"I have a quest for you" Hades voice booms around the underground cavern of his throne room.
"What is the quest father" Nico responded
"I'm sending you to Jerico, Vermont. A team of demigods sensed it a reported it. The town seems to have an unexplainable amount of magical presence." Hades sighs "Unfortunately it could be full of monsters. The council has ordered you to investigate. We need to know if we got a monster hotspot big as New Rome or a safe zone."
"It's ok father I understand." Nico replies realizing the significance of this quest.
"There is another thing when me and Hecate were trying to figure out why the magic level was so high but the mist was thin we found left over signatures of legacies who happen to be our own we spoke with Aprodite they married and had 2 kids one who is said to arrive 2 weeks after you." A small of joy reached his mouth thinking of his great-granddaughter.
"I'm confused" Nico said rubbing his temple trying to remove the dull ache
"She's the granddaughter of one of your more sane brothers who never realized he was a demigod and the granddaughter of one of Hecate's kids"
"That makes sense I guess." Nico says as if all the piece just fell in the right places
"Anyways" Hades continued his stern noice returning "You will leave for Jerico tomorrow."
Nico nodded before he spun on his heel to make his exit but before he could Hades spoke up again
"By the way you should bring that boy toy of yours with you" his father spoke in a serious tone but Nico could recognizes the ever smallest upturn of his lips at his tease.
Nico turned tomato red as he squeaked out a "He's not my boy toy" Nico turned an even brighter red then before out of embarrassment.
"Sure and one of your brothers wasn't Hitler" Hades says emphasizing the sure before shooing Nico away.
Nico still bright red shadow traveled to outside the camp border. Nico fights down his blush then runs up to the big house to inform Chiron of the situation. Nico walks in and calls "Hey Chiron I need to steal your your head medic for something"
"If I may ask what that may be?" Chiron asked in his normal polite tone
"A quest for the council they have me investigating the 'unexplainable magic zone' or what I like to call the UMZ" Nico said in his normal cold voice with a hint of amusement at the end
"Sooooo... Where we going?" Will asked suddenly popping his head around the corner scaring Nico
Nico took a deep breath in before replying "Jerico,Vermont we are to head out tomorrow bring enough nectar and ambrosia to last us a school year we don't know have long we're staying since we could be walking into anything from a demigod camp and monster den"
"Got it I'll grab the gallon of nectar and 2 jars of ambrosia" Will joked back
"Don't forget your medic bag" Nico joked back a small grin on his face which was more of a quirk of the lips
"I won't if you don't forget your sword" Will said teasingly
"I place it down once during training and now I will never here the end of it" Nico says with a groan of annoyance at the end. Nico then continues as if a thought came to him "I should stop at the workshop so I can pick up those new anti-monster phones luckily enough Jason showed me the controls maybe I could also pick up a few jars of greek fire"
"We're meeting at the border at 5 tomorrow right?" Will asks
"Yeah I'll shadow travel us to the border of town." Nico confirmed
"Boys since your both minors I'll enroll you in the nearby boarding school" Chiron said drawing the attention back to him as he starts writing up the papers
"Thanks Chiron" Will said with his ever sunny smile. Nico nods to show his approval. They split up for the night to pack and rest for tomorrow.

Nico wakes up grabs his duffles filled with everything he owns throwns on Bianca's hat and his aviator jacket (that has a sun on either shoulder and a skull in the center of the back) which no his will not be admitting is his favorite jacket. He jogs up to the border to find Will already waiting for him. Will grabs ahold of his arm and says "After this only shadow travel when absolutely necessary. Got me."
"Yes yes I understand doc"Nico said nodding along because he knew Will would say this. They then shadow traveled landing right outside the town border right in front of the sign.
