I walked from corridor to corridor and stairs to stairs just to get to where professor Dumbledore's office to hand in a 'file' that professor McGonagall gave me after her lessons about transfiguration were over. I thought it was odd, because- wouldn't she just send a prefect to do it? Or maybe Argus Filch? I didn't really think of it that much as I was on my way, just hoping that she'd give me extra points for being such a good student.
I woke up feeling really energised ever since that short interaction I had with mom. I had a good dream that gave me plenty of motivation to complete all the tasks I will be acquired. Since he was preoccupied and I hadn't even seen him at lunch earlier, I hadn't told Cedric about it; however, his friends claimed that he had been working very hard on "something". Even though I trust them, it still sounded suspicious, but since he's also a prefect, I wasn't too concerned about it. I'm beginning to miss him, but of course, I won't admit it to them. He'd go on and on about how much I miss him all day if he ever knows.
"(Y/N)!" I hear a familiar voice call my name. When I stopped in my tracks and turned around, Cho Chang and her friends were staring at me. They, but Cho, whispered as soon as I look at them.
Cho walked towards me and smiled. I returned the gesture with a wave, and as she stood beside me, I picked up the signal that she wanted to walk with me to wherever I was going. She seemed like she had nice intentions, and I've only realized now that the last time I saw her, I left off a bad thought. This made me feel bad as I know that she's actually a nice girl, but we both just like the same boy. And she doesn't know that yet.
"Where're we going?" She asked, her hands behind her back. She was walking like something great just happened.
I awkwardly chuckle and responded, "I'm actually going to professor Dumbledore to drop these off," she looked at the files that were carried in my arms. "What's up?"
"I know you're really close with Diggory, and I just wanted to ask..." Oh, I knew where this conversation was going. We both stopped walking and I tried my best not to make it seem like I'm not interested in helping her, but something about this is ticking me off. "Do you happen to know what he likes?" She asked with that pretty grin of hers.
Me, I thought, but of course, I couldn't tell her that. I smile and as much as I wanted to reveal to her that Cedric and I are currently going through the process of being a thing, I simply answered, "I think he'd like something that has a connection to quidditch- or maybe something orange. You're a seeker like him, you might think of something."
She slowly nods at that and agreed. After my response, she thanked me and eventually ran back to where her friends are. I rolled my eyes at this; she'd probably buy him a nimbus 2000 if she's that interested in him- though I hope she won't buy him that. I'd cry for a month if she ever gives him that.
I continued on my journey to professor Dumbledore's office, and to my surprise, the old one was already waiting in front. He noticed my presence and smiled. I hurriedly run to him because it seemed like he's been waiting for a while.
"Sorry if I made you wait, professor-"
"No, you did not, child. Thank you," He says as he receives the files that he needed, but when I see that he didn't tell me to go to my next class, I was sure that he must've planned this. "I must talk with you for a moment, Y/N."
"Knew it," I said under my breath but then realized that he heard it and I just chuckled. "Sorry."
We eventually entered his office, and the cosy atmosphere that this room exuded hit me like a shockwave. He instructed me to move the chair that was close to his fireplace, so I did, and I brought it right up to his desk. I cleared my throat as I remembered throwing a tantrum the last time I was here, which was about a week or two ago.
