A lovely morning

Laughing Jack's POV:

After our wonderful day at the park together, we walked to her home. I didn't want the day to end so quickly so I persuade (Y/N) to have some ice cream with me and, luckily she agreed. But funny story, we both didn't have money for it so I easily scared the ice cream man. He looked like he practically jumped out of his socks! I didn't even have to show myself when I went up to his ear and spoke. Hehe oh how I enjoy frightening people. 

Anyway I stole some ice cream for us both. It didn't look like it had my colours anywhere so I just chose vanilla. (Y/N) in the other hand got (F/F)! Her favourite. She... didn't look too happy hearing about how I got it but she's forgiving.

We walked a long way home. We took turns and long paths till the sun seemed to set. I wouldn't want her to walk around in the dark, especially not without me.

Soon we arrived at her place and we could spend the rest of the day here.

Now to think of it, where is Jeff again? I didn't see any sign of him anywhere. Maybe he's still chasing some helpless soul. But I'm more focused on spending time with my new friend.

Time flew like it never existed and (Y/N) seemed to fall sound asleep again. She always looked so peaceful, so calm....

I remember what she told me earlier.

The fact that she's not scared of me, at least not anymore. Somehow I felt something in my chest as I listened to those words. It felt.... warm.

I couldn't help but smile, looking at her as she sleeps. I knelt down beside her bed, turning off the light for her and hesitantly reached out to rest my hands on her head. I rubbed my thumb through her hair gently as she curled up even more into her blanket. I wore an even bigger smile as I felt a warm feeling on my cheeks.

Before I wake her up, I lifted my hand and stood up. I walked to her bedroom door and looked back at (Y/N),"Goodnight Gumdrop... Sweet dreams."

I closed the door as I proceeded to cover myself in black smoke, reappearing again in the woods where I once left.

(Y/N)'s Pov:

I woke up feeling well rested. The previous day was wonderful and quite pleasant. Despite Jack scaring the poor ice cream man away to steal ice cream. I slowly opened my eyes and yawned, feeling the warm ray of sun shine on my skin.

It took a second to realise what day it is, knowing that I have to get back to school the next day.

I stretched my limbs and sat up from my bed, my hair being messy from how well I was sleeping. It felt like falling asleep on a pile of feathers, with no struggle.

It took me another moment to realise Jack wasn't here like usual. Maybe he gone out again or got a bit busy. My head turned and my gaze fell onto the candy he'd left for me. I still haven't finished it, which is funny because a sweet tooth like me would've ate it up by now.

I stood up and got ready for the day, thinking of what I should do to avoid being a couch potato, but also still wondered when I'll see Jack again. Last time he left, I was scared that I would never see him again from how long he's been away.

As I gathered my outfit for today to go shower, I've realised that I've grown completely attached to the tall monochrome clown. This feeling is new to me, since he's been the first friend I've ever made.

I walked out my room and made my way to the bathroom to shower, till I suddenly felt a pair of hands grabbing me from behind and arms wrapped around me. I yelped in surprise, then heard a giggle next to my ear. I immediately recognized the laughter and giggled myself.

"There you are! I was wondering when I'd see you again"

Jack seemed to smile brightly as he rested his head on my shoulder, lifting me off the ground.

"Aww, did you miss me already, Kiddo?" Jack cooed as he hugged me slightly a bit tighter.

A nervous chuckle escaped my lips as I nodded. He smiled as he put me down on my feet and placed both his hands on my shoulders. He loomed over me, leaning so that I could see his smiling down at me upside down as he stood behind me.

"And where's the little miss off to, eh?" He asked with a playful grin. He seems to be in a very good mood. He noticed the clothes I was holding in my arms and then to the direction I was walking to. He seemed to be putting the pieces together and chuckled to himself quietly.

"OH I see hehe. I'll just wait till you're done" He ruffled my hair and smiled warmly.

A smile creep up on my face as I turned and went to the bathroom to get ready.

It has been a view minutes in a relaxing shower. The hot water putting some of my nerves at ease. I should probably not take so long since Jack is here.

Once I put on new clothes and came out the bathroom with wet hair, I walked down stairs to see Jack laying on the couch. He was looking up at the ceiling and whistling the nursery ryhm of pop goes the Weasel, his expression seeming bored. The moment he noticed me coming down the stairs, she shot up and he had a bright smile on his face.

He seemed to be happier than before, and more cheerful. He walked over to me and suddenly picked me up off the ground again, bringing me into a tight hug. I giggled and hugged him back, resting my head on his shoulders.

"OH you were taking ages, hehe. How was your sleep? Did you have a good rest?" He asked with a sweet smile.

I nodded," yeah, I did. And you?"

He seemed to be thinking, but smiled, although it looked kind of nervous, or shy. "Yea my rest was pretty good Kiddo, thanks for asking"

As he was talking, he walked us over to the couch, still holding me in his arms. He put me down and let me sit on the couch next to him as he rested an arm around my shoulder.

"So, you got any plans for today?" He asked curiously.

I still haven't even thought of what to do for today. It mustve slipped my mind when I saw Jack again. I'd like to do something before heading back to school the next day, but at the same time I just want to rest from the hectic events recently. Either or, I want to spend it with Jack.I shrugged and replied.

"I honestly thought to relax for today. Maybe, if you'd like, a nice walk and chat along the way?"

This reply seemed to make Jack think about it, considering it. He tapped a finger to his chin as he thought.

"It has been pretty eventful recently, hasn't it? I understand that" He chuckled softly and pulled me closer, wrapping his arm around my shoulder, making me lean into him.

"How we relax here for a little while, then take a walk to stretch our legs. Sounds good, Gumdrop?"

I nodded," sounds good"
