Chapter Two

23 1 1

School started for a 3 weeks now. The atmosphere's super awkward. Mark and Patrick seldom talk to each other, because Patrick got mad at Mark for not telling him that he likes May too, besides that, nothing else. We're keeping it calm as much as possible.

Right now, I'm sitting with Michael, Mark, John, Paul, and Rich, waiting for Patrick. We've made it a rule to wait until all of us are seated before eating. And here he comes carrying two trays. AGAIN.

"Does she always have to sit with us?" Paul leaned on the table.

"Unfortunately." I scoffed. Mark was, once again, silent.

May giggled as she sat down next to me.

"Just because we're girls doesn't mean we have to sit beside each other." I moved away from her because Patrick couldn't find a seat. I did it on purpose so that she'd be in the middle of Mark and Patrick. We all know that she likes Patrick more. She liked him before she was even noticed.

Patrick is changing bit by bit. When we were in seventh grade, he tried out for the high school basketball team and got accepted. Ever since then, he seldom spends time with us. He got a little too overboard with embracing his "basketball career". He became one of the best players in school, and his fame skyrocketed. It's a good thing we didn't have to deal with it, he acts the same around us. For now.

"When will you stop acting boyish?" May giggled as I finished eating.

"When can you shut up and kill yourself?" I rolled my eyes at her. She's still believing that rumor that I'm just "acting" like this so I could be close to the boys. We found out who spread it, it's from her group.

"I was just joking." She raised her hands in surrender.

You wouldn't believe that we were almost, ALMOST best friends. The press release was: I was jealous of her fame and her boys. The truth is: I got bored with the girly stuff and all the drama.

Patrick and Mark would have few minor fights these past few days. It was always about May. It's either Patrick made her cry again or May was jealous of other girls flirting with Mark. But he stayed loyal, he never texted back to another girl except me and May, of course. Patrick, on the other hand, is still embracing his fame and the girls that come with it. I swear he's in a secret relationship with one of the ninth graders. How do I know? My sister told me. Apparently she's bestfriends with Patrick's so-called secret girlfriend. When May knew about that "secret" relationship, she turned her attention towards her "studies" as she might call it, but it's the other boys who like her.

How she met other boys? I guess you can say it's my fault.

My first chapters are almost narrations, you really have to know the details.

Also, the coming chapters are also short. Sorry not sorry:)
