It's been a week since I've talked to Chres. He did exactly what I told him to do. Don't call or text me. I was getting ready for school. I was in the bathroom when I heard shuffling. I stuck my head out the door and saw my mom on her laptop. 'Its 6:47 am. Why is my mother up?' I said to myself. I walked in her room. "Hi mom." She looked up, closed her laptop and smiled "hey baby." Wow. I haven't heard that in a while. She patted the spot next to her, signalling me to sit next to her. She wrapped her arms around me, squeezing me tight. I haven't felt her hugs in so long and I'm not going to lie. It felt really good. "So. Tell me what's up. We hardly talk." She said rubbing her eyes. I could tell she had been working. "Nothing really. I've been feeling a little down, but I'm okay." "Down about what sweetie?" I don't think I should tell her about Chres yet. It's too early and I don't want my day to start off bad. "Can we talk about this later, please?" I questioned. She nodded her head. Before I left the room, I kissed her cheek and continued getting ready.
I was pulling up to school. I got out my car and I saw Chres. He had a white hoodie on and was with some other guys. They stood behind the school. There was a all black car that pulled up. Chres walked out the group and handed the guy a fat bag of weed. When he handed him the weed, his jacket came up a little and in his pants, tucked behind him, there was a gun. My heart dropped. I went back to my car and sat there for about 20 minutes thinking. "What have I gotten myself into." I yelled. I had never felt this feeling before and that was the moment I knew, I was in love with a thug.
