The next morning, my friends and I walked to transfiguration class, and as we passed by other years from different houses, they looked at me with grimaces on their faces. I, for one, did not understand what all this was about, but sooner or later, one of my friends slink their arm around my shoulder.

"They're talking about how real you were when you confronted Zacharias, Ced!" He said, and I laugh at that, a bit relieved that it was just about that.

"Exactly. I heard that he was on the edge during lunchtime," they laugh, "bet you roared out your stress at him, huh?"

I shook my head at that, thinking that they'd thought of such a thing. "I don't 'roll' like that, you guys. I just simply lectured him about how he should behave. That's my job, isn't it?"

"Mhm, sure, whatever you say, Ced." The girl said as she chuckled and eventually, we all arrived at professor McGonagall's class.

Just when my friends and I were about to enter, still jesting around about Zacharias, Cho Chang appeared and called my name out. "Cedric!" This caught all of our attention as we turned to see her.

The boys nudge my shoulders while the girl simply smirked as they teased me. I could only smile and tell them to head in first, hoping they can realize sooner that I didn't like her that way anymore. Cho skipped her way to me with her hands behind her, seeming delightful as she looked at me with a smile. I didn't know what to say at first as my mind could only set on (Y/N) and what I'll be learning today.

"Do you have a minute to talk with me right now?" I nodded in response to her question and we both moved away from the door as others wanted to enter the class.

"The Slytherin's quidditch team told off my team that they'd always win against our house, so..." She cleared her throat before continuing, "they want to challenge us again after we lost the real quidditch match with them after December... and I was hoping your team and I could do another friendly sparring? You know, just so that we'd be more prepared?"

"I—" I wanted to refuse, but as soon as Cho did the 'please' thing, it brought guilt to me as I imagined how sad she'd get if I refused.

"Please, Cedric?"

"Alright. This Saturday?"

"Yep. This Saturday."

"Okay." I smiled and she quickly thank me, running off to somewhere I don't really bother to find out about. With that, I sigh and shortly headed inside.

I chose to sit at the middle table, which was in the second row from the front. The ones from the front have always been taken by Ravenclaws. My friends nudged my shoulder from behind and questioned me endlessly about Cho. Since I just wanted this class to start, I didn't respond to any of them.

As soon as professor McGonagall entered the room, the class quickly began. In case I needed to write something complex and difficult to wrap up, I would always have my book ready. We began by giving a brief review of the material we had previously learned, and that today's lesson was going to be about the vanishing spell.

"Evanesco," she said the spell's name, placing a snail right on top of a box so that its slime won't get onto her table. "These are less difficult than Conjuring Spells, which you would typically save for N.E.W.T. level, but they are still some of the most challenging magic you will encounter on your O.W.L."

Then, she began to show how it's done. As she chanted the spell "evanesco", she moved her wand to the right, then meandered to the left and back again to somewhat the right, finishing it with a little forward. Soon enough, the snail vanishes, and everyone was astonished by it.
