°•° Your POV °•°

To say this job was dangerous was an understatement. We were chasing the leader of a terrorist group through Mexico, having no idea what the next step is.

But something wasn't right. Working as the recon and intelligence specialist, I had a lot of information on everyone. Including Graves Nd Shepard. And something wasn't adding up. The info I had on them wasn't making sense. Had no idea what they were doing until I found myself locked in a nice cell with the rest of Alejandro and his people.

Apparently, the boys didn't take too kindly to the fact Graves was supposed to take over. As for Shepherd, I assumed he allowed for it to happen, otherwise they would've been on Graves ass already.

As I sat there, my thoughts started eating away at me. I should've told them my suspicions. Maybe they could have pieces it together. I was blind. I could've warned them. Alejandro, Ghost, Price. Gaz and Rudi.

Soap. Soap could be safe if I had something. But now I had no idea where he was or if he was even alive anymore.

Stupid, stupid man. I knew that I shouldn't have gotten attached, but I did. And so did he. We knew the risks and went for it anyways. Now I didn't know if I could even give him a proper goodbye, if I'd ever see him again after this.

That is what terrified me.

My heart hammered in my chest as I leaned against the wall, legs pulled close to my chest as sleep thteatenin to take control. I almost let it.

The sounds of scuffling outside my cell quickly woke me up, however. I stayed quiet in my cell, standing up and carefully positioning myself behind the door. It swung open as I quick to react, grabbing the intruder in a chokehold. His gloves hands clawed at my arm, hsmmering down like he was trying to tap out.

A familiar voice rang out next to me.

"L/n, let him go. Johnny there already lost enough blood as is, don't need him knocked out from lack of oxygen," Ghost barked. I paused, quickly letting go as Soap held a hand to his neck, gasping for breath. I stood there, staring at him as he gave a sheepish grin, knowing I saw the thick bandage around his arm.

"What happened? Did Graves do this? Are you okay? I didn't hurt you, did I?" I blurted, quickly looking him over with gentle hands. His laughed, patting my shoulder. He was holding back, I could tell. None of them knew we were a thing, after all. Well, maybe except Ghost.

"I'm fine, really. Ghost saved my ass," he explained, gesturing to him.

"Its what teams do. Now, catch your breath. We move in two," he commanded. We both nodded as he walked off to regroup with the rest of the others. Soap looked at me before grabbing my cheeks in a soft embrace.

"Aye, when Graves took this place over, I was so worried. I thought he'd have you killed, with how much information you have in everyone," he murmured, pressing a gentle kiss to my forehead.

"And I thought you were dead. I was so, so scared, Soap. I thought I lost you . I thought I wouldn't get to say goodbye," I whispered, pulling him close to me. He laughed, giving me a tight squeeze before pulling away and leading me out.

As we left, I saw Ghost eyeing us and knew then and there what Soap and I were to each other. He gave me a look and I could tell he was smiling.

We were finally back at base, debriefs done and all the other formal bullshit. I collapsed onto my bed, happy to be back. I heard the door open and shut, flipping over to see Soap walking towards me, grinning. His arms was still bandaged, but he was much better.

He joined me on the bed, wrapping me up in his arms.

"Did'ya know Ghost knew about us? He hasn't said a word to anyone else, but he told me to keep it down with you," he said with a snicker. I laughed at that, toying with his soft locks of hair.

"Yeah, I kndw he knew just about as soon as we left the prison. I think hes okay with it. If Price finds out, though, I don't think it'd end well. But I trust Ghost to keep it hush hush," I told him. He didn't say anything, only smiled as he held me close.

He murmured something under his breath, but I didn't need to hear it to know what he said.

"I love you."
