Not so innocent

Friday December 24

In the morning i was jolted awake by chad, he wore a mask of panic and he seemed so relieved for some reason.
" Oh rebaca , thank god you're ok, '' he says, wrapping his arms around me. I look at him confused trying to figure out what's going on.
"What are you talking about?" I question him in a raspy voice but he doesn't answer, instead he grabs my hand and pulls me downstairs where everyone is in the living room, well except for Felicity of course. I walk up to them and I stare at them as they stare back at me, they look at me like they've seen a ghost.
"What?" I mumble looking around at their fearful faces. Everyone stays quiet looking around at each other.
"Did you see him?" Abby says, looking at the ground.
"What?" I question, thinking about all the different things they could mean.
"Did you see him god dammit?!" nex yells standing up looking at me. "At the fucking lake!" then i instantly knew what she was talking about.
"W-what is going on? I-i didn't d-do anything "I stutter out lying through my teeth. But nex can see right through me like cleaned glass. She steps toward me holding a stained red paper
"Then explain this you little bitch" i shouts shoving it at me. I grab it from her reading what it says.

You all will die. I will pick you off one by one. And I already started. The first girl is already gone. And I know "Rebecca" saw me. But it's too late for you all. The station's radio is out. There's no phone service. You all are caved in. So be prepared for your death because one of you is next.

"What is this?" i sutter under my breath.
"You know perfectly well" she says, stepping toward me clenching her fist.
"I swear I don't know anything" I mutter , forcing tears to my eyes. chad steps between me and nex
"She's just as clueless as us, calm down" he says protectively
"We still need to figure out who the 'first girl' is" Abby says, looking up from the floor at us. They haven't noticed felicity is gone yet.
" Do you know who?" abby asks me
"no " i mumble, like hell i'm telling this dumbasses she's gone.
"I'll go find out" Abby says standing up and she runs up the stairs holding a kitchen knife for protection. I sit down on the couch panicky looking around. Then Chad sits next to me, putting his arm around me protectively.
"We need to find a way out of here" Nex says
"Felicitys gone!" abby shouts running down the stairs
"Ok we are splitting up. Me, Rebecca, and Chad will check the basement. Abby and nex check upstairs alright?" josh announces taking charge
"I'm up for it" I say standing up, we all exchange a look and we split up. I open the basement door and I'm hit with a rush of the musty cold. I walk down the stairs holding childs hand,we get all the way down and Chad starts looking on his own in a different part of the basement. I look at josh who is already looking me.
"So there is a good chance we are going to die so..:" josh says walking closer to me, i smile at him
" What are you implying?" I say with a smile on my face. He puts his hand on my cheek and leans closer to me
" I think you know," he says, kissing me. I smile and kiss him more. I close my eyes, enjoying the moment. He puts his hands on my waist pulling me closer to him. We get so caught up in each other we are suddenly interrupted by screaming.
"THE KILLER!" Chad screams, me and Josh quickly pull away from each other before Chad can see what we were doing. Chad catches up with us and we all get to the stairs, the killer right behind me. As we were running up I realized Chad is at arm's length. I reach out to him and grab his hand. I can hear the killer right behind me. I pull chad down and he tumbles down the stairs. I use it as a boost and i get up closer to the top. Josh is just now leaving the basement so he didn't see me kill chad. Good. right as i get out i see a tiny red light in the corner pointing at the stairs, a camera. I get out and sit on the floor as Josh uses a chair to barricade it. I start panting, my vision blurring in and out as I try to calm myself. Once I collect myself enough, Abby runs down the stairs.
"What happened?!" she asks us, as she gets ready to use the knife just in case.
"The killer..chad...i-i" I mumble out, unable to find the right words. Then I see nex run down the stairs, she looks directly at me with a look of pure fury. She knows. She knows I killed chad.
"REB-" nex starts but then the door swings open sending the chair flying and the murder starts to run out, just as we started running the police sirens echoed through the air. We all make a beeline for the front door, I think about what to do next. I look behind me and she is the closest to the killer, it would be a shame if she tripped, I slow down a tiny bit and I push her, push her to the killer. I look back in front of me to the others and they are too focused on escaping, we get to the front door and run out to the police officers. I get behind one of them and look into the windows, where the killer is standing, looking at me. Then I see him write a letter and he walks to the front door walking out and disappearing into the forest. I look at the tiny little note at the front of the steps and while everyone is busy looking at the forest I sneakily look at the note.
