Julie ran the back of her hand over the cheek of the person in front of her. This person smiled warmly and then pointed to the starry sky above them. The wolf couldn't hear her voice or even make out his eyes because of her hood being pulled down too much but she didn't care. Every detail of this person was imprinted in her mind. Her smile, her beautiful blue eyes, her long golden blond hair down to her waist... She kissed her softly. Her lips were soft and slightly moist. Then she took her in her arms, rising on tiptoe to compensate for her small human size. A smell of lilac then reached Julie's nostrils when she buried her face in her neck. Then...
...Julie woke up with tears in her eyes. The day after the Hounds attack, she was in one of Amaril's family guest rooms. Sitting next to her, Lucia watched her, cuddling her head, her blond hair lightly tickling the witch face.
"How do you feel ?" She asked, concerned.
Julie jumped up and left, slamming the bedroom door. Lucia just sighed and walked slowly towards the door. As for Julie, she observed her bandages for a few moments, slightly spotted with blood once in the small hallway. She then went down to the living room where the little family was gathered. The father jumped to his feet and clutched his cap in apprehension.
"T-Thank you for tonight. How can we repay you ?" He hastened.
Lucia arrived at this moment behind Julie.
"See with her. I'm not interested." She said simply pointing to Lucia who shrugged to meet Marcus' questioning gaze.
"A-And you told Amaril they were coming back... Is that true?"
"Not here. Not for you." She finished by taking her things and heading for the exit.
She stopped for just one last moment.
"Thanks for the care."
Then left.
Lucia caught up with her by running a little further on the path that leads to the city. She was dressed in an old linen tunic that was a little too wide for her since her armor was beyond repair without Julie's help.
"Hey ! Wait for me !" She shouted at her.
"Why ? Why should I wait for you? Why are you following me? Wasn't it enough the first time? Do you REALLY want to piss me off ?"
"Why are you like this?"
"How ?" Julie asked impatiently.
"So mean ! I'm just trying to talk a little!"
"To end up asking me to help you get revenge, right? It's okay, I know this kind of speech-..."
"I already killed him." Cut her off Lucia.
"What ?" The witch wondered.
"I came back no less than three days later... Not that I got lost, but I didn't know how I would be welcomed... No one is expecting me. My only remaining friend got swallowed up by this monstrosity the other day. When I finally decided to set foot in town again, this asshole took the opportunity to accuse me of everything. Even for his arm. Everyone looks at me like trash or insults me or threatens me or whatever... So I cracked up and when he came to see me thinking he could fuck me, I followed him to his bedroom at the tavern and I plunged my blade into his neck. For now, no one suspects me because no one has seen me enter the room with him... But they may quickly make the connection. I'm alone, just like you as far as I know so if you could just stop being a bitch for a couple of minutes and talk to me for a bit before I'm executed for murder that would be really nice..."
Julie watched her for a moment. The young woman had a shifty and empty look. She had already accepted her impending sentence. Maybe she even wanted it, hence her overconfidence.
