[Floor 2 - Moo Moo Haven]
I watched from afar as Kirito walked into the town of Urbus, the main city of the second floor. He seemed satisfied to be one of the first players on a new floor.
Right after the boss fight ended, a kind of argument broke out which gave me a chance sneak behind the pillars through the boss room and onto the opened stairs onto the second floor. After reaching the stair though, I did stopped for a moment to hear some of he details of the fight; apparently they're accusing Kirito of monopolizing boss infos on purpose for the last hit bonus.
If I had to have a say, all I can say is that accusing people for such a thing is childish. After all, it's their fault for not actually paying attention. But I didn't need to say anything. I did what I want; being the first to step foot onto the second floor.
This floor is kind of themed after a savanna of some kind. Except that it's a cow savanna instead of cheetah or the such.
I've already gotten my fair share of experience from a little cow hunting a bit ago. The exp obtained isn't much but not so bad for a new floor. I also obtained some materials useful for upgrading my weapon later.
I've still not gotten used with the upgrading system in Aincrad but I could make out some notes on it. The amount of materials affected the chance of success on upgrading so material hunting is first and foremost. I would've made sure I'd have enough for a hundred percent success rate if only I have enough time for it.
Oh, also weapons in this game have upgrade limits, not sure based on what though. If I had to guess, probably rarity. As for my Anneal Dagger, it has eight upgrade attempts. If an attempt failed, it would be a waste so I'd be careful on that.
There are five parameters upgradable; sharpness, durability, quickness, heaviness and accuracy. As for my dagger, I'd go for sharpness and quickness. Maybe durability too if I wanna keep using it for another floor or two. I'd keep that in mind, too.
Anyways, I already have enough base upgrade material for all six attempts. The problem is the sub material for success rate improvement. I probably have enough for only sixty-five percent boost though, so I have to work on that.
I sneaked inside the main town after making sure Kirito is no where in the vicinity. Then I checked on some NPCs to accept quests before heading back out onto the golden field.
I saw a restaurant on my way out however and remembered of the beta page about it's cheesecake specialty. I made a mind note of trying it out later and continued my way to a bunch on cows and bees.
*time-skip after about two hours*
I equipped the cloak I bought from the first floor and sneaked into the now crowded town towards a merchant shop. I sold most of my useless drop items and leave the omes I needed for quests and weapon upgrade then I ran for the NPCs I took quests from. You could say I'm doing a speedrun.
While I was running though, I saw a familiar small figure running through an alley chased by two other unfamiliar figures. And then another black figure was chasing the three from the rooftops. I immediately dropped my quests speedrun and went into the alleyway to chase them.
Normally, I wouldn't waste my time on this kind of thing when I can spend it on leveling up instead but the fact that the one being chased is none other than Argo, I decided to find out what's actually going on.
