"How did I end up here?" I mumbled to myself as I stare at my reflection.
Midnight blue hair, sapphire blue eyes, and a face that just wasn't mine. I touch the mirror then my own face, still in disbelief. Who is that? Is that me? Who am I?
"Prince Cassius, it's time get up. Your elder brother Anwir is about to have his celebration on becoming the crown prince." I heard someone say from the other side of the door.
I walk up to the door and open it to see a young lady in a maid outfit. She had brown hair and purple eyes. What was her name?
"Oh! Your majesty, you're up." I step to the side as she walks in to aid me.
Prince Cassius... Anwir, my elder brother? Did I reincarnate into "The Throne Is Poison"? No way, did I die in my old life as a low-life business man and get reborn into a novel?
"Miss, I apologize. What was your name again?" I ask her as she helps me change my clothing.
"Ophelia, your majesty."
"When is my coming of age ceremony?" I stare at my reflection, I looked to be about 8 years old.
"It should come around September in about seven years." She said as she started to brush my hair.
Seven years? That'll be along time from now. According to the novel, Cassius meets the Female Lead, Aurora, at the age of 10. Aurora will try to help Cassius, but he tear his family apart, killing his two older siblings to overtake the throne. He had a tragic story, but he became a tyrant and killed the rest of his siblings to make sure no one would rise to treason. Aurora still thought that she could change Cassius, but sadly Cassius thought she was working against him and fell to his blade as well.
I look to Ophelia, "Are they all in the dining hall?"
"Yes, your majesty."
"Lead me there, I will dine with them."
"A-are you sure? Usually you just greet them and eat in your chambers." Ophelia had her hands up to her mouth to exaggerate how shocked she was.
Usually I eat in my room? I nod as she led the way.
I follow the halls as I look over the side to see the training grounds. A lot of knights.
"Ophelia, do I not have a designated guard?"
"No, your majesty requested that he didn't need one. So his highness had not assigned you one."
He doesn't even force me to have one? Did he not care for Cassius? I look back to Ophelia.
"Can you let him know that I would like one?"
"Yes, your majesty."
"Actually... I think I'll let him know myself."
We reached the dining hall and I push the door open seeing my four siblings, my father and his two wives. I walk further in and take a seat.
"Good morning, father. Brothers, sisters." I look to his wives, "Good morning."
I then get served my food and listen to the long silence. I looked down at my food waiting for someone, anyone to say something.
"How did you sleep, Cassius?" My father then spoke.
I look up from my food and finish the bite within my mouth and take a look at my father, I grin and say, "I slept well. Did you?"
I hear my siblings whispering and mumbling something but it was too soft for me hear exact words.
"I did. I'm glad you've finally joined us for a meal." His smile looked genuine.
How can he smile like that? I finally look towards my siblings and see that they've stopped whispering and just stared at me.
