Wooden Puzzle

God knows how many years it's been...

What I found was one of my gramps wood puzzles. This one was always by his side. I took the puzzle and put it on the coffee table. I thought about dealing with it after I clean the house. I mopped the whole 1st and 2nd floor after sweeping all the unnecessary rubbish off and let me just say, this was pure hard labour.

I went and sat on this big, comfy settee and set out to take a little rest but gramps puzzle set me off as it was just laying there, waiting to be solved.

Ok fine! You win! I groan and move towards the table to get the puzzle. Since I was too lazy to get back, I just slumped on the floor.

Let's see~ uh huh.....this goes to the left so the other one can come out....but the right one gets stuck....hmm~ Aha! I got it! I'm gonna have to twist the top right and turn the bottom left so that the right one is loose....and then get the right one out....and it's done!

That took most of my brain power. I think my brain cells died. Anyway, the wooden cylindrical like structure comes out from its hiding, and it reveals something that looks like a scroll. I take the thread and untie it as carefully as I can. There was something written at the edge of the paper.

To my granddaughter:
Lucy Celestine Ydder

Guess this letter belongs to me now...since it's got my name on it. But let's see. The paper had nothing serious written on it but there was this weird symbol on the old paper. It almost looked like the magic circles in my fantasy books but this was kinda off. I decided to put the puzzle back and check the symbol out in the library.

Such was my fate that as soon as I got up, I felt the weird tingling feeling going up my leg. That's not the only thing though because my leg cramps hurt so bad that I lost my balance, slipped on the carpet and hit my head hard on the floor.

I guess this is what you get for calling your grandparents final gifts weird...
