Katniss P.O.V

"How long are we staying?" I ask Peeta as I attempt to pull a suitcase from the shelf in our closet.

"I don't know," Peeta says as he walks over to me. "Here, let me get that for ya." Peeta reaches up and pulls the suitcase down with little effort.

"Thank you," I say as Peeta sets it down on the bed. "Now, back to how long we're going to stay in 12."

"Well, I don't have any meetings for a few weeks, so we can stay as long as you want," Peeta replies.

"Well, certainly not weeks," I say as I look at Peeta and smile. "A couple days." He nods his head.

"Sounds good," Peeta says as he kisses my cheek. As Peeta start to pull some of his clothes out of the closet, I stand there and debate on whether or not to tell him that I'm scared to go because of my nightmare last night. But if I do that, then I'll have to tell him about it and I don't feel like telling about it. I decide to at least mention something about it.

"Peeta, are we taking the car or riding the train to 12?" I ask him.

"Well, I thought we'd take the train since it would be quicker," Peeta replies. "But we can take the car if you want to." I nod my head. Peeta gives me a concerned look. "Katniss, what's wrong?" Peeta asks as he walks over to me.

"Nothing," I reply.

"There's something," Peeta says as he gently places his hands on my shoulders. "We've had the car since I became president and you've even refused to ride in it before. Now you're wanting to take it even though we can ride the train? Katniss, does this have anything to do with your nightmare?" Peeta asks. I turn my head to look away from him.

"Yes," I mumble.

"Okay," Peeta says. "That's all I wanted to know. If you'll feel better taking the car, then we'll take car."

"Thank you," I say as I kiss him real quick and start packing again. We are finally heading out about an hour later. By car it will take us hours, but luckily there's not much traffic since most people still don't own cars. Mostly just government officials are the car owners.

When we're finally just outside District 12, I look over to Peeta.

"Stop here for a minute please," I request.

"What for?" Peeta asks as he pulls all the way off the road. I shrug my shoulders.

"I just want to look at it for a moment," I reply. "It's so pretty with nothing but trees surrounding us."

"It sure is," Peeta says as he turns the car off. I take my seat belt off and scoot over to where Peeta's sitting. He puts his arm around my shoulder, and I lay my head on his chest.

"This is a great way to spend our anniversary," I say. Peeta nods his head.

"I love you Katniss," Peeta says softly.

"I love you too Peeta," I reply as I look up at him. He leans his head down and kisses me. When we pull away, I see something out of the corner of my eye. When I realize what it is and that it's coming straight towards us, I have no time to react.

"Peeta!" I scream just a split second before the car coming towards us hits us in the side.

What happens next happens fast. I'm thrown over to my side of the car. Peeta throws his arm across my chest to hold me back, and the airbags deploy. Our car spins around and all I can do is sit there and wonder if we're going to die. I pray to God that if only one of us dies, that it will be me. If Peeta dies, it wouldn't be long till I did too amyways. I'd grieve or starve myself to death within days.
