The Big Move

~Prologue~
You open the door to your apartment and kick your shoes off. You hang your bag up on the coat hanger next to the door, letting out a sigh of relief. You were finally home after a long day of working at that horrid office job. You head towards your small kitchen and warm up some left overs, digging out a folded up envelope from your pocket. Leaning against the counter as your food warmed up, your start to open up the letter addressed to you from your grandfather. As you stare at it, you read..
"If you're reading this, you must be in dire need of a change. The same thing happened to me, long ago. I'd lost sight of what mattered most in life... real connections with other people and nature. So I dropped everything and moved to the place I truly belong."
You pause, thinking deeply about the change, the thought of moving to a much different environment. You get cut off as the microwave starts beeping at you, letting you know your food is done. After eating, you take a much needed bubble bath. That was it, you had your mind set on this. You needed this change. Once you get out the bath, you throw on you pajamas and head to bed. Tomorrow you will put the ball in motion.

You had your eyes wondering out the window of the bus as you headed your way to Pelican Town. You were so lost in thought you didn't realize that you made it to your destination. You shake your nervous feelings and get out the bus, thankfully the moving company had your stuff come early all you had to do was unpack. You were cut off on your list when a red-haired woman spoke to you,
"Hey there! Are you (y/n) Spade we've been looking forward to meeting? I'm Robin, the local carpenter. Let me show you to Spade Farm."
You were taken aback by her quick friendliness, but followed her not wanting to be left behind. When you make it to the farmland, you were dumbfounded with the amount of work that was going to be needed to start farming. You turned your head towards Robin, now seeing a older gentleman next to her.
"Hello, you must be (y/n) Spade. I am the mayor of Pelican town, Mayor Lewis. I'm glad to see that your grandfather passed down the farm. Just don't over work yourself like he did. A good man he was." He continued on by telling you everything you needed to know to get started with your life here. After today, you would need to clear out all this land. You will also need to introduce yourself to the townspeople. Once mayor Lewis and Robin left, you headed inside to look around. It was a small house but very cozy, not much different than your apartment in Zuzu City. You laid down on the bed, staring at the ceiling. You would have to do quite a bit of work to start your new life. That was okay though, anything beats the office job you had. Before you knew it, you had drifted off to sleep.

The next morning

You jolted up, panicked. You don't remember falling asleep, but if you're being honest with yourself, that was the best sleep you had in awhile. You looked at your phone to see what time it was, 6:00am. It was so early. You throw your legs off the bed, stretching and gaining your composure. You get up and start getting ready for the day. You decided to head into town to meet some people. Hopefully they were kind, especially to newcomers. You walk into town and looked around but no one was there. You checked the time 7:30. You heard a crack, someone was coming towards you. You were happy, started to walk towards the sound. You were faced with a man with messy hair and a face that looked like it hadn't been shaved in awhile, he looked grumpy. You smile anyways and start introducing yourself only to get cut off, "I don't know you. Why are you talking to me?"
He continues walking, leaving you standing there confused. "That damn bast-" your thought was cutting off by a voice, "Yup, that's Shane. The town's alcoholic grump. Sorry that was your inaction with him. Hey, I'm Sam. Nice to meet you!" there was a short pause as he looks over you, "I'll see you around farmer!"
You felt your face heat up, "Y-yeah! See you around.." He was kind of cute. Sam...
You pat your face, composed yourself and headed on your way to meet the people of Pelican Town.. Even if you can get Sam off your mind.
