~Few weeks later~
You were really good friend with Alex. Over the past few weeks you learned a lot about each other. Alex even knew about you small, distant crush on Sam. He would tease and joke with you about how you would admire Sam from afar. On Friday night, you would go to the saloon to see Sam. He would get demolished at pool by Sebastian. You took every chance you got to see him. Today was one of those days. It was Friday morning.

You stayed in bed and stared at the ceiling, sitting up moments later. You rubbed your eyes and sighed. You threw your legs off the bed and got up, stretching your stiff body. You got ready for the day and headed to the farm. Spring was almost over, and you needed to collect the spring crops before they died in the summer heat. By the time you finished picking and collecting the crops it was almost 3pm. You were hot and sweaty, ready to go inside and shower. You started heading inside when you heard footsteps. You turned your head to see Alex, who seem nervous for some reason. You stopped and stood there until Alex was close to your porch.

"Hey Alex! I was about to shower and was going to come see you when I was done." You chirped with a smile. He smiled at you, playing with his fingers. It was obvious he had something on this mind. You held your box of crops with one arm, leaning it against your hip. With the other arm, you grabbed Alex's hand and pulled him inside. "Make yourself at home! Let me take a quick shower!" You put down your box on the kitchen table and headed to the bathroom to shower.

While in the shower, Alex was pacing around the living room, debating if he wanted to tell you what was on his mind. Moments later you had appeared in a pair jeans and a oversized red shirt that hung off one of your shoulders. You were drying off you hair and looked up a bit to see Alex. "Hey, sorry if I took long. I try not to take long shower if I can help it." You said in a soft voice, not wanting to scare him. He looks back at you and shook his head, his face was a slight red from the sight of the beautiful girl in front of him. "You're fine, (y/n)! I promise, plus all I did was walk around the living room while thinking," he pauses and looks at the clock "Its almost time to head into town. It's Friday and everyone will be at the saloon. Come on." He said getting closer to the door. You nodded your head in approval while grabbing your sweater. You walked over the way to the saloon with Alex.

"You really need to start talking to Sam if you like him like that, (y/n)!" Alex jabbed at your side softly, and nodded your head towards the blonde-headed skateboarder. Your face got red and hot. "Shut up, Alex! You have no room to talk when you can't even tell Haley how you feel." you huffed out. Alex looked at you with a sour look then gave you a little shove, and you stumble forward. You had a hit something a little hard and you look up to see Sam. You back and shutter out a response, "I am so sorry, Sam! I didn't mean to bump into you. I tripped and fell." you babbled on while Sam looked at you and chuckle. "(y/n), right? This is the first time we have talked. Hey, why don't you join me, Seb, and Abby? We're about to play pool." You looked back at Alex, but he was already walking away toward his house. You looked sad but looked back at Sam and nodded, "Sure."
