Edward follows the members of the Volturi guard, feeling guilty of Alessandra's death. He couldn't protect her like he promised. He would never hear her voice again. Feel her warmth. Her scent... her lips.

-The decision's made. - He affirms before Aro.

-I'm afraid your prodigious gifts are too valuable to be destroyed. But if you're unhappy on your return, join us. We would be glad on utilizing your abilities. - Aro smiles. - Would you consider staying with us?

-You know it wil happen anyway. - Edward smiles lightly, without much hope.

-Not without a cause. - The guy nods slowly before turning around.

-Such a waste. - Aro sighs, watching the younger vampire leaving.

Alessandra grips the yellow sports car door, looking worruedly at Alice.

-I suppose you didn't rent this car. - She watches how the vampire drives past several cars with agility, getting Rosalie and the human nervous.

-I imagined you'd oppose if I stole it. - Alice tell Alli, who lightly shakes her head.

-Not this time. - Alessandra comments sarcastically with a smile.

Both vampire girls smile, but the pixie-haired's smile fades when having a vision. Not nice at all.

-What is it? - Rosalie asks.

-They rejected Edward. He'll make a spectacle showing himself to the humans.

-When? - Alessandra asks nervously.

-He'll wait until noon, when the sun's at its highest. - Alice explains while Alli and Rose turn to the car clock.

-Alice, hurry. - The human stumps her foot nervously, fiddling with her grandmother's necklace.

-There's Volterra. - Alice points at the small city.

The car goes through the streets of Volterra, and the pixie-haired makes sure of honking to horn for everybody to set aside. Rosalie and Alessandra look through the windows, seeing most people wearing red robes.

-Why the hell is everyone wearing red? - Alli asks, fiddling with the necklace.

-It's San Marcus day festival. They commemorate the expulsion of vampires from the city. - Rosalie explains, looking through the window.

-It's the perfect setting. The Volturi won't let him reveal himself. - Alice continues, still honking the horn as she puts a pair on sunglasses on.

Alessandra looks at the clock, realising there's only five minnutes left until noon.

-Only five minutes. - She whispers fearfully.
