INT. MATH CLASSROOM - DAY
Alex is sitting at his desk, struggling with the math lesson. Mrs. Rodriguez notices that the class seems to be getting bored with the lesson and decides to switch things up.
Mrs. Rodriguez: "Class, today we're going to take a break from math for a moment and talk about something else. Did you know that love and relationships can be represented by mathematical equations and graphs?"
The class looks up from their books and listens intently as Mrs. Rodriguez begins to explain the connections between math and love.
Mrs. Rodriguez: "For example, the Pythagorean theorem can explain the distance between two points in a relationship. And just like a parabola can have ups and downs, love can have its ups and downs depending on the emotions and actions of both individuals in the relationship."
Suddenly, a student raises his hand.
Student: "Excuse me, Mrs. Rodriguez, but how do you use math to find love?"
Mrs. Rodriguez smiles.
Mrs. Rodriguez: "That's a great question. Math can't help you find love, but it can help you understand the complexities of relationships and make more informed decisions about who you choose to be with. For example, if you're trying to decide between two potential partners, you can use math to calculate the compatibility between the two of you based on factors such as shared interests and values."
Another student raises his hand.
Student 2: "Mrs. Rodriguez, I have a question about math. How do you solve this equation?"
Mrs. Rodriguez answers the question, but Alex's mind is still focused on the conversation he had with Max earlier that day. He takes out his phone and messages Max, telling him about the interesting math lesson he just had. Max replies with interest, and they continue to chat about their shared interests.
Mrs. Rodriguez notices Alex using his phone during class.
Mrs. Rodriguez: "Alex, please put your phone away and focus on the lesson."
Alex quickly puts his phone away and focuses on the lesson, feeling grateful for Max's presence in his life.
As the class ends, Alex catches up with Mia in the hallway.
Mia: "Hey, Alex! How was math class today?"
Alex: "It was actually really interesting. Mrs. Rodriguez talked about the connection between math and love. Did you know that the Pythagorean theorem can be used to calculate the distance between two people in a relationship?"
Mia: "Wow, I had no idea! I guess math can be useful after all. So, have you heard from Max today?"
Alex blushes at the mention of Max.
Alex: "Yeah, we've been messaging each other. He's been really supportive of my interests in gaming and math."
Mia smiles knowingly.
Mia: "That's great, Alex. It's good to have someone who understands and supports you."
Alex nods, feeling grateful for Max's presence in his life.
FADE OUT.
