"Lightning!" Serah called.

Lightning stared at the photo she had in her hand and quickly put it into her drawer.

"Lightning!" Snow's voice shouted.

Lightning hurried down the stairs quickly to see her sister Serah and her fiance, Snow Villiers. They were going to be married in a few months, after many delays throughout the three years of endless war and fighting.

Serah smiled, "Good morning sis," one hand laid on top of her other hand and she was leaning on Snow's burly arm, "Come sit down."

"What is it?" Lightning pulled out a chair and sat down.

"Let's eat first," Serah pushed a plate towards her and Lightning stared at it, unappealingly.

"How have you been feeling sis?" Snow asked her, "Still like your old self? It's been a few months since he died, maybe you could try being- y'know, happier?"

Lightning grunted, her insides desperately wanting to punch him again.

Serah looked at Snow who grinned, "We're officially engaged!" she took her right hand off her left to reveal a glimmering diamond ring with a light pink garnet placed in the center delicately. It matched her hair and her blue eyes shone happily.

Lightning raised her eyebrows and studied them. She had to accept this right? She already had, one time when they fulfilled their focus but then Serah died from the Eyes of Etro, causing Lightning to fall into a crystal sleep with the memory of Serah until Bhunivelze purged it. She had woken up after centuries of deep slumber to become the savior that everyone feared only to destroy Bhunivelze and guide everyone to the new world, a world everyone called Nova Pulse.

"So?" Serah's voice jerked Lightning out of her train of thought, "Do you give us your blessing?"

"I-" Lightning started, but then something hit her and she gasped. Everything in front of her blurred out and she jumped out of her chair, pulling out her sword that was tucked in her leather strap.

"Lightning?!" Snow yelled, his face cleared and she felt him grip her shoulders and she shook him off, collapsing to one knee.

"Sis!" Serah cried, trying to drag her up. Lightning shoved her away and lifted her head.

"Permission is given," a deep voice said. A bright violet iris flashed before her and she stumbled back.

"Not this time," a familiar voice cried as the sound of swords clashing rang in her ears.

"NO!" someone screamed, glass shattered under her feet, someone, falling, something awakening, love, and death.

"Bhunivelze."

Lightning's eyes flew open, and she sat up, gasping. When did she fall? Laying on the floor, unconscious were Serah and Snow, bleeding from cuts. "Serah!" Lightning cried as she tried reaching her sister. The window was smashed and cold spring air was entering the room. She helped herself to her feet weakly and gripped her sword tightly.

"Sis..." Snow mouthed feebly, "Wha..."

"GET DOWN!" Serah's voice screamed hoarsely as glass spun in the air.

Lightning clenched her teeth and grabbed Serah's hand, pulling her out of the way.

"Snow!" Serah protested.

"Not now!" Lightning snapped, she was dizzy from the vision and something told her that everything was wrong.

Snow groaned, he was seizing up, shaking. His blue eyes rolled back till his scleras were showing and he stopped. It was unusually silent.

"Snow?" Serah whispered, "Please-no-LIGHTNING!"

A huge gust of wind suddenly lifted Serah and Snow into the air and something familiar looking burst into the room through. Odin. He looked more, evil.

"Odin, please," Lightning tried but instead he grabbed Serah and Snow, and flung them off into the distance before Lightning could say anything.

"YOU!" Lightning hissed, before plunging her blade into his heart, the Dark Odin reared up and roared, slamming Lightning into the wall.
