"No...Serah-" Lightning gasped, her sword unsteady in her hand after defeating the Dark Odin.
Her kitchen was demolished. The shadow of Dark Odin faded away into a cloud of Chaos. Wait- Chaos, that means the unseen realm has awakened. Caius and Yeul, they-
"It's an illusion, isn't it Lightning? Woah, this place is wrecked," a playful voice mused behind her.
Lightning spun around, "Lumina?!"
The rose-haired girl smiled, "Hey sis!"
"How are you here?" Lightning gaped, and backed away from her.
"It's just fate isn't it? It's just not fair Bhunivelze..." Lumina shrugged helplessly, "But you hear this? We're getting Serah back, and we're never losing her again."
Lightning scoffed, "Who says this is permanent? Why would I care about this?"
Lumina giggled, "Hey, check this out!" she walked over to the wall to stare into a cracked mirror, "This was the one in Serah's room, in Bodhum, right? Look at it!"
"Yeah," Lightning gazed into the mirror for a few seconds then blinked. The reflection was a girl with fierce glowing violet eyes and messy arm-pit length blue-purple hair. She flickered and disappeared.
"You see Ailis don't you?"
"Ailis?"
"She's from the unseen realm," Lumina explained, "I brought her here, she's here to help."
Lightning gasped and looked back at the mirror, this time, instead of her reflection, the girl stood in front of the mirror.
"Hey Lightning," the girl said in a flat voice, she glared at Lightning with her creepy purple eyes still, "I'm Ailis and I'm from the unseen realm. I'm from the dead."
"You mean Caius and Yeul sent you back?" Lightning asked and Ailis nodded.
Lumina grinned, "How are you, Ailis?"
Ailis blinked, "I'm alright," she stared at Lightning, "Have you seen Hope?"
"Hope?" Lightning's heart jumped, she hadn't seen Hope ever since they started living on Nova Pulse and assumed he was recreating Academia which was his hometown on Gran Pulse. Lightning was training with Commander Amodar's son, once they formed another version of the Guardian Corps.
"Hope Estheim, do you want to see him again?" Ailis looked Lightning in the eyes and grinned, she turned around and put her hand on the mirror. It started to glow as the cracks faded away, and slowly, it swung open. She stepped back and Lightning narrowed her eyes.
"Light?" a weak voice croaked.
"Hope?" Lightning inhaled and turned to stare and the shape of Hope Estheim, standing in the entrance of the mirror.
