I finished the book shortly after I got home and I decided to go talk to Adelade, she'd know what to do about Tyler. When I got to her room, Ev had just arrived and flung the door open. Needless to say, Addy was not very happy that she was woken up from her midday nap.

"Addy, I need help!" I exclaimed.

She pulled her covers up over her head and I could vaguely hear her groan.

"But I met a boy!" I whined.

She threw her covers off and sat up in a rush.

"Did Nessa just say she met a boy?" She asked.

"Maybe," I muttered, trying to hide my blush.

"Explain," Ev stated plainly.

"I, uh..." I started.

"You, uh..." She mocked me. "You were about to tell us about your little boyfriend or whatever. But hurry up because I have news that's far better."

"Hey!" I exclaimed.

"Boyfriend?!" Addy exclaimed, jumping out of her bed.

I sighed before blurting out , "Ok fine! Yes, I met a boy. But he is not my boyfriend. I just ran into him...literally... twice... and when I see him I get this fluttering feeling in my stomach, like there's butterflies flying around and my head starts to spin and Addy help I think I'm in love!"

Before I knew it, I had told them everything in a single breath.

I looked up at them shyly. "Please don't tell my parents."

"Too late," Ev said. "Now, dress shopping time!'

"For what?" Addy asked.

"The ball," She responded blatantly.

"What ball?" I questioned.

"The one to celebrate Jaron and Imogen's wedding anniversary," She explained.

We ran out of the room and down the hall, eventually making our way out to the courtyard. Together, the three of us walked through the winding streets of Drylliad, laughing and talking, none of us acting as royalty (or as close as we were). Before we knew it, we were at the tailor's shop.

It took Addy less than five minutes to find the perfect dress for her. The velvet was deep forest green, decorated with silver thread and iridescent sparkles.

Evangeline and I, on the other hand, were a little more indecisive. After a period of time and quite a few annoyed groans from Adelade, I found my fairytale dress. It was a dark, regal green with a light blue tint. The long skirt cascaded to the floor, and both the skirt and the top were ornately decorated with pastel flowers.

Finally, Evangeline found her perfect dress. It was a gorgeous shade of sage green with flowing fabric that fell down to the floor. Once each of us paid for our gowns, we made our way back to the palace.

When we arrived, the three of us sat in Addy's room, discussing the ball. Before we knew it, the conversation of dates came up.

"So, I think I'm going with Walker, but who are you going to the ball with?" Ev asked.

"I'm not going with anyone," Addy said, scrunching her face up in disgust. "But, Miss Nessa, who are you going with? Maybe a certain baker's son?"

I felt my cheeks heat up and proceeded to hide my face in my hands.

"Beshrew thee," I muttered.

"Oh come on, you know you like him - it's really obvious - so just ask him to the ball!" Adelade exclaimed.

"It's not that simple!" I replied.

Evangeline sighed. "Nessarose Amarinda Branch, I promise you, he will say yes! All you need to do is ask!"

"But what if I can't find him," I persisted, trying to stop them from convincing me.

"He's the baker's son, he's probably at the bakery," Ev stated.

I rolled my eyes. She actually had a point. "Fine, I'll ask him when I see him tomorrow."

"You're seeing him tomorrow?" Addy squealed.

"I guess," I muttered.

"So that's a yes?" Ev smirked. "Good day sir, I am leaving!"

And with that, she turned on her heel and walked out.

Addy and I burst into laughter.

"I hate you two," I sighed.

"But you love Tyler," She taunted.

"Okay, but how can I not?!" I exclaimed. "I mean, his eyes, they like sparkle, and his hair it looks so fluffy and soft and -"

"And that," She paused for effect, "Is my cue to leave."

I groaned and fell back on the bed, still thinking about Tyler.
