Everything suddenly clicked.
It all came back to him.
Why was he here?
Dokja was a different version of himself, living peaceful life.
How long had he lived this life?
This wasn't his world.
His world had The Apocalypse.
His world had The System.
His world had Yoo Joonghyuk.
But did this world? He couldn't tell. He would have to see this world's Joonghyuk to know.
But how?
Dokja had no connections to him. In fact, before this book, he had never heard of the name 'Yoo Joonghyuk' before. There was no way to find him and what would he even say to him when they met at last.
"Hey, are you my life and death companion?"
No matter how he looked at it, he would be in a weird situation if he said something like that. Just the thought made him unsure of what to do.
Perhaps his world was out there somewhere separate, and he could esacpe from this one? That sounded impossible without something like the system or the constellations.
The ladder was not an option. Maybe instead he could try what all the other, many books, at the library did; Isekai to another world where he would then belong? That would give him one chance and one chance only. He had to be sure that was the answer in order to try it or he might risk the only chance of getting back.
So how could he get out? The only option that made enough sense to him was contacting the actual Joonghyuk and seeing if he exists. Perhaps he could make Joonghyuk read the book and cause something similiar as to what happened to him?
If that didn't work? he would be called a maniac and probably end up in an asylum.
However, this was the only plan with a decent shot at working.
Getting back to his original world was most important to him right now.
Pulling out his phone, Dokja searched the internet for the name Yoo Joonghyuk in hopes of finding him.
Suprisingly, nothing came up.
Joonghyuk must've became a gamer a few years in the future, which would make finding him a lot harder.
Dokja glanced back at the book he stole.
The authors name didn't suggest anyone familiar. Despite it being a clear alias, it gave him no hint as to who might've actually wrote it.
If Han Sooyoung had written it, she would've left something for him to pick up on, whether it was a 'Han' of 'Young' in the name, but he could make no such connections.
Would he really have to wait for him to debut?
What if Joonghyuk didn't exist in this world? That thought brought shivers to entire body.
Maybe he had to look a little harder. So what? He had to work hard to survive the apocalypse, this was nothing. Dokja looked over his phone again. The bright screen displaying a page with celebrities that had similiar names, but nothing about the one person that Dokja had been looking for.
He looked near the top of his screen, gazing at the time.
It was already noon.
He missed morning class.
Unfazed by the realization, unlike he would be only 2 days ago, he remebered that this wasn't his world. Why did college even matter anymore. He needed to leave this world as soon as possible. Through that "Soon" might be longer than he wanted.
He sat in his room, wondering how he could possibly get back to his world.
Author's Notes:
This is the last chapter that the previous author left off on meaning the next chapter is all mine. Good luck to me lmao. Besides that, the same as usual with the editing except it was less due to the reduced amount of writing in this chapter so good 4 meh. Welp, Imma just prepare myself for the next chapter and hope its good. At this time (3/25/23) No one has read the previous 2 chapters, but whatev. Imma keep writing so I can practice to become a writer in the future. To be honest, idk what I wanna be, but its close to a writer, a forensic scientist/FBI investigater, independent/homicide detective, or maybe even a lawyer. IDK as of now, but either way, Arigato, and bai bai!
