Can you be mine? (A young Raeda fanfic)

Saturday

   Eda's pov:                                                        *ring ring, ring ring*

I heard the alarm clock go off as I realized what day it is today. "It's Saturday," I say with excitement as I jump out of bed. I knew what that means! I get to hang out with Raine today! 

I head to the bathroom and try to find a hair brush. I look for mine but can't find it. Well, Lilith's will have to do. But she walks by to bathroom door and see's me.

"Hey," she says, "why are you using my brush!"

"Uh, cause I can't find mine, duh" I replied "besides I'm going to see Raine today, I wanna look at least half-way decent."

"Ohhhhh, your partner," Lilith says while trying to hold back a laugh.

"HEY, they're not my partner, we aren't even dating," I cried back.

"Sure," says Lilith "Well, if you wanna look good, at least let me help you get ready."

"Fine," I uttered as she pulled me back to my room to pick an outfit.

*time skip*

After about 20 minutes Lilith had found me a pear of black ripped jeans and a red flannel tee shirt. It wasn't much but I told her I didn't want anything fancy. After all me and Raine were going to go exploring in the forest, and I don't think a dress would fit the occasion.

Right now she's sitting on my bed braiding my hair because she says it looks messy or whatever. But I'm just going to see Raine it's not that big of a deal. They're cool and wouldn't care how I look even if I had a massive black eye.

Raine's just like that. They're not one to criticize but will be there if you need them. 

Thats what I like about them. But it's not like I like them or whatever, just as a friend! Or at least that's what I keep telling myself. I honestly don't know anymore. It's like I wanna be more than friends but I don't know if they feel the same. Ugh, why is this so hard!!!

"Whatca thinking about," Lilith says.

"Noting," I say in a worried tone, trying to act like I wasn't starring right into space for about 10 minutes.

"Yeah, sure," she says "I know you like that kid." 

"WHAT, NO," I reply frantically, but she doesn't buy it, like she would. I can feel my face burning and I wouldn't believe me either.

She just laughs and gets off my bed. She says "Whatever, well I'm done with your hair so..."

But I cut her off "Yeah," I say rushed "I gotta go."

"Ok Eda, have fun on your date," she replied.

I swear, one day, she's gonna be the death off me.

I walk out the door and try to act natural because Raine only lives a few blocks down, and I don't want to show up at their house looking like a red faced blushy mess. That would be really embarrassing. 

I would have asked Lilly how to deal with this but she says she's never liked anyone. That's fine with me, but, that means she no use, and my mom would make a whole big deal about it and Raine would NEVER be aloud in my house again because my mom would be super embarrassing.

So while I walk down the street I start daydreaming.

Maybe Raine did feel the same way, and it wouldn't be awkward. And if they did like me too we could go a real dates instead of just hanging out. Maybe if they felt the same we could go to grom together. Wouldn't that be awesome! 

But, these are all just "What If's" and before I know it I'm at Raine house and am forced to snap out of my trance.

I walk up to their door and knock, not long afterward The door opens and I see Raine Standing there.

"Oh Hey Eda," they say cheerfully.

"Hi Raine, you ready to go,"I replied.

"Almost I just have to grab one thing is that okay," they asked.

"Yeah sure," I said.

"Ok just give me one sec," and with that they shut the door again.

*time skip* 

Two minutes later they come back with a basket in their hands.

"What's this for," I asked.

"I just thought we could have a picnic, is that not ok," Raine said. 

"No, no, I think it's a wonderful idea," I said reassuringly.

"Oh, ok," Raine said more calmly this time.

And with that we walked down to the forest together, on what Lilith called a "date."
