I glanced nervously at the two at the bedside. One was wearing an eerily kind smile while the other had a monotone look on his face. Heaving a deep sigh, I unzipped my bag to see if my stuff were all there or not. I mean I know they won't take anything to avoid suspicion but William said that they found me unconscious at the banks of River Wear. What if someone else took something from my bag?Not that they would know what most of the stuff in my bag was but.... Yeah I know I am too suspicious. Sue me.
"The bag was completely dry when we found it. It is made of quite an interesting material." William's voice brought me back from my thoughts.
"Yeah, It is waterproof." I said without giving it any second thought. It was just after I blurted those words out that my eyes widened because of the blunder I made. Did waterproof cloth for bags even existed in the 19th century? It was at times like this that I wish I had paid attention to History classes back at school.
"Now, about those...Intriguing objects I mentioned before, are they some sort of weapons?"
Phew, looks like he didn't realise. Wait, why am I getting relaxed! A bigger bomb just dropped on me! How the hell am I supposed to explain what a phone and tab is to him? I was crazily cooking up some excuses in my mind as I hesitantly took them out. They already checked my bag once, there is no use in hiding anything now.
"Were you talking about these?" I asked showing him the tab and the phone.
"Oh yes! These are the objects that I was speaking of. If it isn't rude to ask, what are these used for? You see I am quite the curious person." He laughed lightly while smiling softly. But anyone smart enough could have noticed that his smile didn't reach his eyes.
"Uhh....They are nothing really. Just some glass and metal jammed together. Hahaha....." ....Way to go Rosalin! What a way to give yourself up! You are the ruler, no, the God of all idiots! Tae-Hyun would have surely smacked me on my head, hard, at my stupidity if he was here. Oh dear Lord Tae-Hyun! Help me! Please share some of your honourable knowledge with me!
"Really?..." William asked me with a skeptical look plastered on his face. Even the mostly poker faced Fred looked at me skeptically. Just as I was begining to hope that they would somehow buy what I just said, my phone vibrated with a small 'Ting!' as the screen lit up, revealing my lockscreen. That's why I was hoping that you would be dead! I checked what was in the notification. It was a notification for a damn assignment submission. I never liked that Professor's class! He must be taking revenge on me for not paying attention in his class!
I looked up slowly to face the both while cold beads of sweat slowly trickled down my face. I could see them staring at my phone. William must have felt my gaze on him, for he turned to face me with a dangerously beautiful smile resting on his face, "It must have been an important assignment."
I smiled nervously at him. Knowing that there was no escape now, I heaved a sigh before I explained what it was as briefly as I could to him.
"This is a smartphone and a tablet. They are used for....how do I say this....uh! They are-I mean I use this, the tablet to draw and study while I use the smartphone to call, text, take photos or listen to music....does that make sense?"
William stayed silent for a while before speaking up,"So....you said you can call someone using that. Would you mind calling someone?"
I glanced at the phone. Calling someone would not be possible. Neither would texting. There was no signal on the phone nor the internet. "I didn't lie to you or anything but that would not be possible right now. You see I need....some sort of medium to do that? And well, the indicator of the medium being present is not there. Soooo....."
"It is okay, we understand but sadly we would need to confiscate those gadgets you have. I hope you would understand." William stood up with an apologetic smile before extending his hand forward. I guess it can't be helped. I wouldn't want them to get more suspicious than they already are of me. And anyways it should take them a while to realise how to operate it. Maybe I can somehow prove to them that I am harmless and get it back.
I handed him my phone and Tab, though unwillingly and saw them leave, closing the door behind them. Just before he left, I saw William secretly send some signal through his eyes. I would have never detected that if I wasn't staring at him so intently as he now possesses my precious gadgets. I turned to look at where his gaze fell after they had left. It was the window. What could have been there for William to send a sign- Wait. How did I not notice this before! There is a huge tree out of my window with its branches spread out. It is the perfect place for a sniper to position themselves! Was Moran or someone else there to knock me out if I was deemed as dangerous there! I knew it! I have to be especially careful around them. I mean I understand that they will take me, a girl of suspicious origins having strange clothing and objects as a sign of danger. I really got myself in some mess, huh? And my phone and tab is with them. Thank goodness my overly suspicious ass doesn't keep anything not to be seen in them.
I am tired. Everything that happened today was so exhausting. So, I am in Moriarty the Patriot now, huh? God only knows what awaits someone tomorrow in an anime world. With these thoughts circling inside my brain, my eyes felt heavy as I slowly drift away to sleep.

FanfictionLook, I don't know how the freaking hell I got here. I was just walking and.....well, the actual problem here is that the characters have KILLER FACES. Okay, maybe it is a bit rude to call them 'characters'. Another problem, a Twenty First centaury...
