Suffering.

Pain.

Delusion.

That's all Billy's life has ever been. Little Billy Afton. His worst battle so far has been the hell hole that is America in the very late 1930's. The small apartment building his British family lived in. They had immigrated from Britain to this small town in the middle of Utah.

If it weren't for all of the jobs his parents took in order to keep them all fed, he would've just stayed home. Billy wanted to help his parents, it's just what he did. He wanted his parents to have money, so he worked. Even at his young age...

He had just cleaned someone's yard, they payed him a dollar to do it so he was totally on board. As he began to walk home he heard it. He heard a sound so intriguing that he couldn't help but stop walking.

"My best friend, ladies and gentlemen! Meet the incredible Fredbear!" A man announced. Billy turned his head to the side while walking and saw a bear with a top hat on and his handler.

It was a traveling side show. The man had a purple suit on finished off with a purple top hat that he took off and put on the large light brown bear. Billy looked on in shock as the bear did amazing work.

It did tricks, it played ball, it did everything Billy could've imagined. He was intrigued by it.

"You there! Young boy! How would you like to feed good old Fredbear?" The man asked as he pointed his cane at Billy.

Billy paused for a second before nodding, "I would love that, sir." The boy approached the bear and picked up a piece of raw fish from a bucket before handing it towards the bear.

Fredbear's eyes we're large and black, he stared at the boy, almost a desperate cry for help. He didn't want to be there, but he had to be.

Billy watched as the bear took the food from his hands and ate it. A part of him wanted to steal the poor creature away but couldn't.

"Thank you! What's your name, boy?" The purple suited man asked as the young boy looked over at him.

"William... William Afton," Billy smiled.

"A round of applause for William!" The man shouted as the small crowd began to clap. As the show ended the crowd dispersed and Billy began to walk away.

"Oh! William!" The man shouted before walking over to him.

Billy turned his head and looked back at the man as he took off his purple suit jacket. "My boy, if you need to make some extra cash the please don't be afraid to come and clean out Fred's cage, I could use the help." He smiled at Billy.

"I'm sure my mum would let me, she's a very nice lady," Billy smiled back at the man as he nodded. "I'll see you tomorrow, William," the purple suited man smiled as he walked off, leaving Billy a smiling and happy mess.

"Mum! You'll never guess what I did!" Billy smiled as he came running into their apartment.

Marie sat on the couch and tried to cover a bruise with her hair as she turned her head to see her beautiful baby boy.

"Hello, Billy," his mother smiled as she hugged him. Marie took his coat off and hung it up as Billy handed his mother some money. "Bill..." she sighed as Billy shook his head, "take it, mummy," he smiled.

His mother gently took the money off of his hands as he sat in their broken couch with her. A part of him was so tired of the day, but the other part of him? Excited. Happy.

He hadn't felt this strongly about something for a long time.

That little dancing bear was one of the best things to happen to him in a long time.

His thoughts were quickly interrupted by the front door opening. Standing in the doorway was non other than his father.

"Will, what are you doin' up?" he slurred his words as he stumbled into the house.

"I just got a new job!" Billy smiled as his dad stared at him.

"Fuck off, William," he dad slurred as he stormed off. He was jealous that his son had more success then he did.

His father grabbed onto the money and shoved it in his pocket, he placed his beer bottle on the table as his mother gasped.

"You bought more!? We can barely afford food as it is!" She shouted as Billy ran up to his room.

He didn't want to be like his father, he wanted to love his children and make sure they knew that they were loved.

He wanted to be a good father, and a good man.
