"Get up off my feet and stop making tired excuses."

Simon had spent two weeks in the same house, only ever leaving to go buy food and he was going stir crazy.
He needed out and luckily JJ had invited him to a party.
Apparently it was going to be a 'real wild party' with strippers. He wasn't too keen on the idea but he was willing to give it a try.
"JJ, I don't think this is a good idea!" He shouts over the loud music that vibrates through his chest and makes him feel slightly unstable on his feet. He throws back another gulp of his drink, a warm feeling trickling down his throat.
"Dude, lighten up! They're gonna be here soon." JJ shouts back, bouncing completely out of time with the music as he nurses a cup that he probably doesn't even know is empty.
Simon can't deny he's enjoying himself but he could think of better things to be doing right now, on this fine Saturday night.
A loud roar of cheers erupt around him and he follows everyone's tired, liqueur infected gazes to a door where about five or six girls have walked through. Great, he thinks, the strippers are here.
He definitely doesn't like this. He isn't the sort of person to go to a strip club and objectify women for their bodies.
As he turns to leave, though, he catches the eyes of a familiar face. It's one of the strippers but he knows her.
They went to school together. Her name was Londy but they were never close.
Hannah had moved to his area when he was about fourteen. All the girls had immediately scooped her up and under their wing and he had only ever talked to her to ask for a pen.
She shouldn't be a stripper. She was always so smart. After all, she was always the girl everyone asked for a pen and that meant something back in school.
He pushes through the crowd, gaining angry shouts from men also trying to get as close to the girls as they can but he manages to swerve and shove his way through.
"Londy?" He shouts and she spins round. Fear is in her eyes.
One thing she would dread about coming here was the chance she would see someone she knew.
Simon grabbed her arm, dragging her away in a spur of the moment decision. A sudden need to find out why this girl, this girl that was once a smart, modest teenager, is now stripping in a club. The thought that she wanted this, that she found it fun and exhilarating, never crossed his mind.
"Why are you dancing for money? You always had so much potential." He says as soon as they are outside. The contrast between the two are shocking. Inside was hot and humid; outside was cold and brisk. Inside was crammed and loud; outside was desolate and silent. Eerily silent.
Londy refused to answer him. He had no right to get all up in her business. They barely even knew each other and he was acting like he cared, like they always did. She knew exactly where this was going and she would refuse; she always refused, she told her boss every time it happened that shrink wasn't for sale. Okay, she could handle men gaping at her and hooking fivers into her underwear but she would not sell herself. She was not a prostitute.
