Emma had always been an independent woman who believed in working hard to achieve her dreams. She had faced a lot of difficulties growing up, with her parents passing away when she was just a child. Despite her struggles, she managed to put herself through college and landed a good job in a reputable company.
One afternoon, while taking a stroll in the park, she noticed a man sitting on a bench nearby. He was reading a book, and she couldn't help but notice how handsome he was. Emma was usually shy around strangers, but something about this man made her feel at ease. She decided to strike up a conversation with him.
"Excuse me, do you mind if I sit here?" she asked, gesturing to the empty space on the bench.
The man looked up and smiled at her. "Not at all, please do," he replied, moving his book to the side.
They started chatting, and Emma soon discovered that the man's name was Alex. He was an architect who had just moved to town to start a new job. They found they had a lot in common, and soon they were laughing and chatting like old friends.
As the sun began to set, Alex said he had to go, but not before he asked for Emma's phone number. She was hesitant at first, but something about him made her trust him. She gave him her number, and they parted ways, both feeling a little bit lighter than before.
