As time passed, Alex's job became more demanding, and he had to work long hours. Emma missed him terribly, but she understood that he had to focus on his career. However, the long hours turned into days, and Emma started feeling neglected. She tried to talk to Alex about it, but he was always busy.
On top of that, Emma started having health problems. She was diagnosed with a chronic illness that made it difficult for her to work and live a normal life. She felt like her world was crumbling around her.
