Life isn't perfect but her makeup can be. The scent of cherry filled her nostrils. She could already scent the cherry lip gloss, that wasn't applied yet to her lips. Dahlia had been finishing off the last of her make up. Adding a few touches. Life is good when your brows are on point. Without warning she flinched, from out of the blue of a phone call.
Hoping it was Louis. She picked her phone up. Her smile turning from ear to ear. The call being from the person she expected it to be. She didn't even hesitate to answer. "Hi stranger!" She bayed. Louis immediately giggled.
"Hey stranger, are you ready?" "Almost." She answered. "You better hurry up! I'm on my way right now." "Oh no I think I need 2 more hours." "Dahlia you had hours to get ready! Wether you like it or not I'm taking you out of that apartment how you look when I get their. Besides I'm sure you look absolutely stunning."
"Aww I'm fulfilled." Out of the blue Dominic gave her a startle. His head poking out of her door room, wiggling his eyebrows playfully. As much as Dominic was jealous to see her sister talk to other boys he couldn't help but feel happy for her. This is the first time in years seeing her actually happy.
"I'll see you in a bit okay?" "Okay Louis, drive safe okay?" "Aww is dahlia worried about me?" "Louis I always worry about you, now get over here before I change my mind!" "I'm like 10 minutes away, I hope your ready." "I am." She laughed and hung up.
"He better not hurt you or so help me I will murder him." Dahlia burst out laughing at his overprotectiveness. "Dom he's not like dad he's actually sweet." Dominic came in grabbing dahlias hands making her stand up. "I know I'm just...I have this feeling, a feeling I can't get over. I'm afraid to lose you I am so scared to leave you alone." His soft eyes stared into her dark brown eyes.
"Dom I'm not alone. I have you, ivory, and Louis! The three most important people in my life." The truth was Dominic was denial ever since his mom's death. Till this day he still can't accept the fact that his mom is dead. He felt this need to protect the only person he has left. This fear of him soon became a nightmare. He couldn't even imagine the thought of Dahlia just gone. His sister was now his top worry. His top priority. Ever so often he'd feel the need to be with her ever single second to make sure she wasn't hurt. But deep down he knew that he had to leave this fear behind.
Let himself know that she's going to be okay. That he has to start thinking about himself. Put himself first before others. Not only that but he needed to find the courage to stop overthinking life like he has to have an answer to every feeling or situation. Thats not how life works. We figure it all out by just living, by messing up, my missing opportunities, by seeking advice, and not taking it. We learn what's important and what isn't. Sometimes we have no idea what to do and it's scary but it's okay. Always trust your gut and know that everything will work out exactly the way it's supposed to be. It always does. Relax Dominic, we were never in control anyway.
"Hey don't worry I'll be okay!" She hugged him tightly. Not even thinking of letting go. "I love you Dahlia, please be safe." He cupped her cheeks and kissing her forehead. "I will. Now get out and let me finish getting ready!" She stated annoyingly. Dominic giggled and slowly walked away. Leaving her alone.
She quickly chucked her outfit that she already had planned. She sat back down on her chair, in front of her vanity. She opened her dior lip gloss that she had gotten from Gemma. Skin first, makeup second, smile always! Gemma and Dahlia grew very close. Gemma knew Dahlias obsession over makeup, specially beauty. On the day of dahlias birthday, December 13, she was gifted that lip gloss from Gemma.
