Breakfast Conversations

Xhorhas, Caleb and Essek's House:

A kettle begins to boil on the stove as Essek stirs porridge in a pot beside it. The pad of feet can be heard as Caleb comes downstairs to join him.

"Feeling better darling?"

Essek asked as Caleb walked up beside him to pour them tea.

"Better than before I think. Today is going to be.... Hard. We have dealt with most of the mages responsible for the corruption in the Empire, but today  is his formal trial. Beauregard has gathered the evidence to bring him to justice, but even still, just being in his presence... even after all this time."

"You are strong, I believe in you. After this week the worst will be behind you. Speaking of Beauregard, I have been meaning to tell you to invite her and Yasha over for dinner. I think it would do us all good."

"I will speak to Beau about it after the trial, they've been taking cooking lessons from their neighbor, I'm sure Yasha would love the opportunity to make something."

Essek nods as he begins to fill two bowls with porridge and garnishes them with blueberries. Carrying the breakfast he floats over to join Caleb at the table.

"Now, eat, you need to keep your strength up for the day ahead. I myself have a prisoner to question today. It seems someone in Bazozan has been meddling in unconfined Dunamis, and it was wreaked havoc on the city. But enough of that, let's eat before we must be off."

Quickly eating their breakfast, occasionally making conversation in nothing but a glance as those who truly know eachother can, they finish with a nod. With a wave of Caleb's hand the table is cleared and the two begin to make their way to the door.

"Good luck, mein eis, I will see you this evening for dinner. Ich liebe dich."

"I love you too, my fire. If it becomes too much, reach me, I will be there at a moment's notice."

And without another word both wizards speak the incantations of their teleportation spells and are transported to whatever awaits them on the other side.
