Ugh.. Another missing poster.. Makayla thought to herself. She ran away from home over a month ago, with her best friends; Aaron, who's 15, Eliana, who's 14, and Nathan, or Nate, who's 16. They ran away for various reasons, Nathans parents didn't pay any attention to him, so there weren't any missing posters of him. Eliana lived with her grandparents, who are homophobic, so she ran away because she didn't want to be bisexual in a homophobic household. Aarons brother tormented him until he locked himself in his room and then would sit Infront of his door yelling stuff at him until he had to go to bed. Makayla's dad was a drug addict and a domestic abuser, he hit Makayla and her mum. Her mum was an alcoholic, but she didn't do much physically to Makayla and her brother. So one night, while her mum was asleep and her dad was out, she jumped out her window and met up with her friends at the nearby train station.
"Makayla, I don't think we should go in there.." Aaron whispers, standing next to her, looking at her zoned-out expression as she stares at the front door of her old house.
"Makayla, I don't think we should go in there." Aaron repeats, a little bit louder than before. After no response, he approaches his friend and taps her on the shoulder. Makayla jumps, fazing out of her trance.
"Makayla, we need to go." Aaron exclaims, more serious than before. She looks at him. He looks in her eyes and doesn't recognise her for a second. She looks scared.
"Okay.. Lets go." She blinks away the fear in her eyes, and begins to walk away from the house, when suddenly she hears the front door fly open.
"Makayla Thompson! Get back here!" She flings around, seeing her father in the doorway. With memories flooding back into her mind, tears start forming in her eyes. Scared to turn her back on him, she backed away, facing the doorway.
"Run!" She yells, turning her back from the door and running to the bikes they hid in the trees. They jump on and ride as fast as they can to the train. They got their bikes on the train, sat on the floor and put their heads down. When they got far enough away from their town, they got off and started riding, looking for a place to stay. It was raining and was annoying to ride in. They eventually came across a what looks to be abandoned building. There might be a good place to stay there.
