By now, Amanda was already late for her class. She quickly walked over to the classroom where her French lesson was being held.

'May I come in?'- Amanda asked Mrs Andre as she was standing at the classroom door.

'Oui, Oui. Miss Amanda, Say that in French please and you can.' - Mrs Andre said looking over at her.

Amanda was fed up already, she thought to herself: 'Seriously, right now?' and said to her teacher, 'Puis-je enter?'

Mrs Andre was quite surprised that she almost got it right and said. "Close but it's 'entrer'. très bien, Get in now."
(très bien - very well)

Amanda walked in and she felt all eyes on her. She went over to her seat at the back of the class. Yet the staring did not tend to stop and that was when-

"Écouter students, we have a new student joining us today." - Mrs Andre said with a warm welcoming smile. (Écouter - Listen)

Everyone looked up and many started whispering as he looked so majestic and royal.

Amanda looked up and that's when she saw a fine-dressed, tall brunette boy with beautiful blue eyes that looked deep like an ocean surrounded by rainy clouds.

Weird enough, he seemed quite familiar. And that's when he spoke up

"Hello everyone, I am Kyle. I just joined today, nice to meet you all." - The boy spoke to the class with a smile and he bowed a little at the end as a sign of respect.

Wow.

Amanda thought that his name and voice sounded so familiar to someone she used to know. As much as she tried to remember, she couldn't. Amanda threw her mind back and that's when she realized that this boy was the one whom she bumped into, just a while ago.

Yes, but why did his name sound familiar?

"Kyle, please go sit next to Amanda." Mrs Andre said pointing to Amanda.

Amanda wasn't in the mood. "Ughh, why next to me." she thought to herself.

Kyle walked over to his seat, next to Amanda.

"Oh hey, we meet again." -  Kyle said with a sweet smile.

"Gosh, he looks so pretty." -
Amanda thought to herself. But she quickly got rid of the thoughts.

She can't let another man break her heart again.

She didn't reply to him. She just stared at him blankly and looked away.

Kyle wasn't one to give up so easily so he spoke up again without expecting a reply. "I am Kyle."

"I'm Amanda." - she replied.

Kyle said, "What happened, why were you crying then?"

Amanda didn't want to reply but she did for some reason. "Oh that? Yeah that's nothing serious." she said, her face still looking blank and numb from crying.

"No, it's fine. You can talk to me." - Kyle said with a comforting smile.

At that moment, without thinking, Amanda told him everything. She still doesn't know why she did it but at that moment, that felt like the best thing to do. She just wanted someone to talk to.

After telling him about the toxic relationship, the breakup, the rumours, her life back home and basically everything. Her eyes were wet with tears that wouldn't stop flowing.

Kyle felt bad for her and held her hand comforting her.

"You don't deserve that. If someone hurts you again, they'll be the one in more pain." Kyle said as he stared into her eyes.

After class, they walked over to their lockers together. Amanda gave him a tour of the school.

Amanda was finally glad to have found a friend as she had none after this whole thing. Kyle made her feel much better after this traumatic experience.

"I remember you from somewhere. It feels like I've known you for decades but it's only been a day. Have we met before?" - Amanda said with eyes that represented peace and a slight expression of happiness.

Poor thing, after how much she has been through, she needed a friend quite badly.

"Oh for sure, it feels like I know you since birth now." - Kyle said smiling.

"Maybe we were friends back in elementary school, do you have a pic of yours or the class picture??" - Amanda said, looking at Kyle.

"Oh yeah, you're smart, you know that?" - Kyle said with a friendly smirk as he grabbed his phone from his back pocket.

Amanda returned a friendly smile as he was showing him his class photo.

"Kindergarten, elementary. yeah Grade 1... Grade 2. Grade 3.."- Kyle was cut off in the middle as Amanda spoke up.

"Wait! Go back, go back. 2nd grade!!"- Amanda said doing her little happy arms.

"Yeah, this is tiny kyle ha- OH WAIT- Amanda Robert from grade 2??" - Kyle said with his mouth wide open from shock.

"OH MY- Kyle!?" Amanda said looking at him, as her eyes grew wide with realization.

A wave of memory hit her and she slowly went back in time, remembering all the minor details she could remember from 2nd grade with her childhood bestfriend and the only friend she had in her lifetime now that she thinks of it.

A decade ago, a young kid named Kyle and his parents moved to a small neighborhood for their work. While staying there, Kyle became good friends with their next door neighbor, Amanda. They became good friends in no time. They did everything together. They went to the same school and were in the same classes. Well, unfortunately, Kyle and his family had to move away to another state for his parents' work purposes thus their beautiful friendship came to an end

They couldn't stay in contact after Kyle left because there weren't much sorts of communication that could be done and even if there was, it was way expensive for both the families to afford..

"Oh my- You came back-!" - Amanda exclaimed with happy tears flowing down her cheeks.

"I said I would, Princess A" - Kyle said with a face that glowed with happiness.

"You still remember our role-play name, Kay-Kay" - Amanda said laughing with teary eyes.

"Oh come on. Why did I pick Kay-Kay out of all"
