Surviving - a Benrius story

Running

Brooklyn's POV

"Where is this lab?" Ben said his cheeks were stained with tears but his face was serious. I handed him a map he looked at it for a second before sprinting in the general direction of the lab. "You can't go out there, the Scorpius went that way!" Kenji yelled to Ben. "I don't care I'm getting the antidote, take care of Darius while I'm gone!" Ben yelled back, as soon as he said that he ran off into the thick line of trees disappearing from my line of sight.

Ben's POV

'COME ON!' I thought to myself as I was dashing through the cold wet jungle as fast as my feet could to Doctor Wu's genetics lab. I could feel my heart ready to almost jump out of my chest trying not to think about Darius. I started to think about the first time me and Darius talked he was comforting me after the big storm we had and talked to me about dinosaurs until the sun was up. I was just sitting and listening and I clung to him whenever there was a flash through the night sky. He made me feel safe and when we were on the monorail he caught me, he was the only one trying to help me and ever since I came back we have been two peas in a pod. The thought of losing him struck me to my core that thought petrified me. I was running until I came to a river. "SHIT" I cried out, I knew I would never be able to make the jump so I came up with a plan B. I climbed up a tree that had a vine hanging from it. I made a running jump toward the vine and as soon as I made contact with it I grabbed it with all my strength and swung to the other side of the river. my feet hit the ground and as soon as they did I rolled. That was close I thought as I looked behind me. I heard a shriek that came from the scorpius. I just kept running.
