The two of them stayed on the couch for a long time without talking, before Minho decided to finally ask Jisung what happened.
"Hannie?"
"Mmh?"
"What made you so anxious?" Minho asked softly, turning to look at Jisung
Jisung turned to look at Minho, fiddling with his fingers.
"They... They talked about the final project..." Jisung started as Minho hummed, showing that he was listening "The teacher said that it had to be a performance".
"Okay, so what?" Minho asked
"What do you mean? That's terrible"
"Why?"
"Because I have to perform in front of the whole school"
"And?" Minho was looking at him seriously
"And I'll never be able to do it"
"Why wouldn't you?"
"Because I'll embarrass myself so much"
"I don't think so" Minho said, shrugging his shoulders
"I'm going to freeze in that stage"
"Nah, you're going to eat that stage so much people would leave mouth hanging" Minho said, smirking at the boy
"Minho stop joking, this is serious"
"And I'm fully serious, I believe in your skills"
"I don't" Jisung said, staring now at his fingers
"How could you?" Minho said approaching the boy and holding his fingers "You're shockingly talented" He added, as Jisung turned to him, not expecting that kind of compliment
"I've always been fascinated by you. Since we're kids you've been writing lyrics in your room and singing when you're around the house. I've always thought that your voice was something coming from another world" Minho said, looking genuine
"Really?" Jisung muttered
"Yep. That's why I'm not worried" Minho smiled at him "You're an ace Jisung, you can do whatever you want because I know you'll nail it, that's just how you are" Minho added as Jisung looked at him.
Jisung wasn't expecting Minho to be so close to his face. He was really moved by the boy's words and he could feel the honesty in each of his words. But as his eyes fell on his, it was like time stopped. He couldn't move his glance, he was just absorbed by Minho's eyes, as they stared at each other, no words were exchanged any longer.
As they stayed like that, for a long time, just staring at each other being awfully close, they almost felt like leaning into each other slowly, never leaving eye contact.
But the moment they realized they were leaning, they both went out of their trance as they heard a knock at the door. Jisung stood up abruptly, a bit shocked from what just happened, and went to the door, while Minho shook his head, just realizing that the only thought that was going around in his mind now was how much he had wanted to kiss the boy's lips.
Jisung opened the door, seeing a worried Felix jumping on him, engulfing the boy in a hug.
"Oh my god Ji, are you okay? What happened?" Felix said, as Minho chuckled at the sight.
Jisung giggled as he detached himself from the boy, bringing him to the couch, as Minho and Felix greeted each other.
"Basically I panicked because I have to do a performance in front of everyone" Jisung said
"And I was just telling him how much I'm not worried because our squirrel his amazing enough to show the whole world is astonishing talent" Minho said calmly
"I agree with Minho" Felix said, shuffling Jisung's hair. "It may be a bad thing for you, but finally your talent will be shown to the world and you deserve that" Felix explained.
"But I don't think I'll even be able to do anything on that stage. I'm going to freeze and shit myself" Jisung said, shaking his head as Minho laughed
"Don't say that, you're stressing yourself for something that is not happening" Minho said
"But for real, how will I be able to do all of this without shaking in fear from all the eyes looking at me?"
"Because we will be the eyes looking at you" Minho said, referring to Felix and him
"And because you'll be with Chan and Changbin on stage, you've been working with them for years, you'll feel in enough confidence" Felix added
"But I'm scared of disappointing them... They must be expecting a lot from me, and maybe I'll ruin the whole stage thing..."
"No you won't, and even if something does happen, I believe that none of them would hold you for accountable. Jisung, they are the most understanding people I know" Felix defended
"And also, I do believe from the bottom of my heart that you are able to do it Hannie. Last time I saw you, you weren't able to talk to someone else other than me and Felix, you were being as discreet as possible and shaking the second you felt someone give you attention. Look at you know, you have a whole big ass friend group, you met tons of people since the beginning of university, you've been around strangers, you've been laughing wholeheartedly not even caring about the people that were around you, you even took the bus and haven't stressed about it." Minho started softly "Ji, I know you don't believe in what you're able to do, but I do think honestly that you are able to do way more than you think, you have to stop making yourself narrow minded, you're undermining yourself" He added, smiling brightly at him.
Jisung was looking fondly at Minho and Felix was looking between the two, feeling like he was interrupting something. The word Minho said to the boy and the way the boy was looking at him, it all seemed so pure. Felix wanted to squeal.
Jisung smiled to himself, happy to have his two best friends beside him, the two always ready to take care of him. He felt so content, as if he was back in highschool when everything was still okay, he felt truly happy, something he hadn't felt in a long time.
At this very moment, Jisung didn't feel lonely.
The rest of the day went on, the three of them just hanging around in Jisung's flat, cooking some things for dinner as they decided to watch a movie before going to sleep. Everything felt so natural, it was just a turn back in time, when they were doing their Friday's night.
Jisung felt better, his body evacuating any sign of stress and he relaxed.
He was now laying his head on Minho's lap, the latter caressing his head softly, just like he used to before.
