Nico pov

"Hazel? What are you doing here?" I spun around to face a very angry daughter of Pluto.

"I'm saving your butt! Why would you go to Tartarus again?!" she yelled. I tried to feign confusion.

"What? Why would you think that?" I said smoothly.

"Because Jason told me, and because of the note you left on the door!" Crap. I thought that Jason wouldn't figure it out until I was in the Underworld, and Hazel wouldn't be able to come home and see my note (it's the one that's in the description) until it was too late to stop me. "Why would you want to go back, Nico? It almost broke you the first time... were you even planning on coming back?" Her expression had shifted between anger, confusion, pity and concern the whole time she had been talking.

"Hazel... it's him... I can't do it anymore. He's completely oblivious. And no one else wants to deal with me, so..." I trailed off. He was still acting as though we were friends. He was clueless...

"Nico, you can't just go off and get yourself insane right after you came back. Me and Reyna have been missing you; and since Frank wants to live in New Rome with me, Reyna's been thinking about putting you as praetor." I looked up in shock.

"Me?"

"Yes, you," Hazel said impatiently. "I don't see why not; you are extremely responsible and probably have more skill than the whole legion." I blushed slightly at these words. I wasn't that good, was I?

"Hazel, I can't. It's just... I don't see any point up here. He'll never-"

"Again with the 'he doesn't know' thing. Can't you just tell him?" I was about to shake my head, then hesitated. Would I be able to do it? I would go straight to Tartarus afterwards- literally- and he would have that to remember for my death, assuming I died. If I didn't, then I would be insane beyond help. I suppose Dionysus would be able to cure it, but I would still rather be dead.

"I- I guess..." Hazel wasted no time in grabbing my arm and dragging me outside to her car.

*first time skip- this calls for celebration! *gives out blue cookies to everyone

"Jason!" Hazel called to the blonde figure arguing with the person at the front desk. He looked up, and when he saw me, he sparked like fork-filled toaster (personal experience, would not recommend it).

"NeeksohmygodsIthoughtyouwenttoTartaruswhatwereyouthinkingyoucould

havedied!" He exclaimed, taking a deep breath. Then he enveloped me in a warm hug.

"Um, Jason, Nico has something to tell you." Jason stopped squeezing me and raised his eyebrows.

"Yeah?"

"Um..." I went into a slight panic attack. My heart threw itself against my ribcage, and my mind was going a million miles per hour. My limbs felt like marshmallows in the microwave. Jason had approved of me when he found out about Percy, this wouldn't be that much different, right? But what if he thought I was a freak, an abnormality, a-

"Nico? Are you okay? You spaced out for a minute." I snapped back to see Jason's shockingly blue eyes, filled with concern. And that's when I broke.

"Jason... I like you."

Well, that ended well, didn't it? I actually am going to dedicate this chapter to rainsplash5678 for pestering me to write this chapter. She's a good friend of mine, so... yeah.
