Important to note: I ain't writing in how a human deals with puppets, in this reality its a puppet/Muppet society of a world

I'm a first time author, so please... cringe with me lol.
Its a strangely bright, blue sky day. Your sitting behind the wheel of your old beat up car you've had for forever. Your on your way to your new house that you found in this old, very colorful article about a house for sale in a gated community in a location you've never heard of a few hours away. It was strange as you not subscribed to the newspaper and that was the only thing in it. None the less it was convenient as the neighborhood of your old apartment was getting horrendously worse by the day. Your didn't have many friends, as your apartment was to expensive to afford not to work every available minute of each day, and your parents...
Your shake your head clear of such thoughts that began to flood into your brain. Todays a start of a new life! You don't want to start it on some a negative sore note.
"Turn right in 200 feet" your GPS blared pulling you out of your mind. your look up ahead the road to see where the turn is. The paved road you expected to see wasn't there. In its place is a tattered old dirt road almost completely overgrown. You almost decide against driving down it thinking it must be the wrong road, but according to the map this is the only road for a solid few miles. You regret just buying it from the pictures and videos posted and not going to see it prior, but you were so desperate to leave and it was so cheap that you just had to snag it before it was gone. Your turn onto the road and pray that nothing would add to the hundred of preexisting scratches to your car. its bumpy and uncomfortable and you seem to drive for what feels like forever. After awhile the trees and shrubs that sandwiched your car dissipate and you see a finely paved road leading to what you could only describe as a immensely colorful cul-de-sac neighborhood.
"Holy shit, its even more colorful then the article" you exclaim. You slowly drive down seeing a corner store, post office and a few houses. Suddenly up ahead you spot the house you had purchased with a large sign posted in the front. Your park in the driveway and read it.
"Welcome home new Neighbor, Y/N". Oh, i guess the relator you exchanged emails with must've told the other neighbors who bought the house, that was nice of them. You lift up the welcome mat and find the key you were told was going to be there and unlock the door. Your house looked just like the pictures and videos, taking your breathe away for a moment. it was almost like a doll house. The downstairs consisted of the kitchen and pantry, dining room, Living room, bathroom, and a door to the basement. The upstairs consisted of a hallway closet, master bedroom, guest room, and bathroom. You check the basement which was a dim grey dusty place where a few cobwebs resided, nothing note worthy. The house was mostly full furnished which shocked you.
You go back out to your car to grab the belongings you packed up which wasn't to much, mainly your clothes, pictures, gaming system that you barely had time to use, and a few other things. As you were bringing things in from your car and setting them down you noticed a pamphlet on the table next to the front door next to the key dish that you didn't seem to notice when you first entered. You pick it up and read "Welcome Home!" on the front.

You see what you can only assume are your neighbors, underneath this image you can see their names are listed, from left to right they are as follows: Poppy; Sally Starlet; Howdy Pillar; Wally Darling; Barnaby B. Beagle; Eddie Dear; Frank Frankly; Julie Joyful. you sit and admire the colorful cast of what seems to be some of the happiest and friendliest people you've seen in a good while, pardon Frank whom seems a bit grumpy and grey.
As you finish unpacking and getting settled in you hear a knock on the door, startling you as you were sitting down enjoying the new much safer atmosphere compared to your last residence. Your get up and go to answer the door.

"HI! Hello!! I'm Julie!! I'm so very excited to meet you Y/N, its been forever since we've had a new neighbor! Welcome to home!" Julie said rather excitedly
"Oh, why thank you, its a lovely colorful place" you say.
"Absolutely it is, I'm sure you'll love it here, all of us here are marvelous and very neighborly, especially Wally Darling. Speaking of which he wanted to be the one to welcome you first but he's got himself caught up in Sally's welcome to the neighborhood production for tonight!" Julie exclaimed almost running out of breath.
"Oh a production?" you ask, you take note of the horns on her head curious of them but reframe from asking incase it comes off rude.
"Yes! A production just for you, It's planned for tonight and you simply must come and see it! Tonight is still awhile away however, i hope its not to forward but i open we can become the utmost best of friends!"
"Why im honored a production would be made for little old me so ill be sure to not miss it, and its not forward at all I hope for the same, you seems like a ball of joy itself" You say and give a warm smile.
"Im so glad!!" julie says as she jumps up and down. "well theres still many other neighbors for you to meet and id gladly love to introduce you to all of them if youd care for a tour of our lovely home."
"gladly!" you step outside and lock the door behind you. you follow her as she skips down the sidewalk. Outside the sky is clear and blue like and endless pool and the grass is a marvelous shade of green without a flaw to be seen. There are flowers of every hue and funny shaped hedges that make you wonder if it took magic to accomplish. As you look up you see the house bedides yours and notice its windows are eyes that look at you with excitement.

"This here is Wally's home, along with one of the neighbors! he cant talk but he can see and feel and he's just as valid of a neighbor as any of us!" Julies said.
"A live house? now that's gotta be some magic right there!" you say astonished. The house being alive doesn't seem to bother you much, you've heard of strange things happening but never had seen such yourself. It fascinated you.
"Its a marvelous world isn't it? But an even more marvelous neighborhood!" Julie said
"well its nice to meet you neighbor" you say and receive various excited squeaks and creaks in return. you chuckle and wave and the two of you continue to walk past.
