CHAPTER 1 - Where it all began

JANUARY 7TH, 1887

The date was 1/7/1887 when a gorgeous baby boy born in a gorgeous family. His father's name was Hiroto Chizuki, and the mom went by Chiyo Chizuki. The parents cherished the baby. The parents decided to name him "Rin" as they thought it was a pretty name. Something that really caught their attention was Rin's bright blue eyes. Even both Chiyos and Hirotos eyes together combined would still not be as bright as Rins eyes are. Rin was treated very nicely. As he grew older, his siblings were being born and so Rin's father started disliking him more and more until it was at the point of pure hatred. As Rin grew older, Hiroto got tired of Rins annoying behavior. He was loud and annoying, which was the reason he was being disliked by him. While his father hated Rin, His mother Chiyo, and his siblings Akio, Riku, and Hiroshi loved him dearly. Chiyo ended up teaching Rin how to be kind and obedient. Wait a minute.. Doesn't Rin have 4 siblings? He does. Dai Chizuki is one of the four. Unfortunately, Dai hated Rin as much as his dad did. Dai was as heartless and cold as Hiroto. Rins father, Hiroto, would yell at Rin every chance he got. Sometimes he'd yank at his hair or hit him a few times out of anger.

One day, Chiyo gave Rin a pair of golden earrings.

"Rin, this pair of earrings were made by me. I want you to become what is called a demon slayer. You may not know this, but on this earth, demons roam. Believe me. I want you to save people. You shall put these earrings on when you end up becoming a strong demon slayer, okay? I shall not tell you what these earrings do, but i promise you that it would do you great. One of my friends used to be a hashira until he ended up retiring. I want you to be trained by him. He wanders around late at night. You'd easily find him. Demons don't kill him because he carries a wisteria charm with him. Please, once you grow just a few years older, please go out and look for him. Your a strong boy, do it for me hun."

She then handed Rin the pair of earrings and Rin took a few seconds examining it.

"Demon slayer? Demons? Wouldn't I end up dying?.."

Rin said worriedly, while holding the earrings in his hands.

"Maybe, but listen. You can end up becoming a hero! You can save hundreds! Trust me, you'll be okay."

She said as she caressed Rins hair. Rin then hugged his mother tightly, she hugged him back as well.

One day on April 4th, 1897, Hiroto mysteriously went missing. It was quite odd actually. There wasn't a note left behind neither was any of his stuff had disappeared with him. The only explanation they thought for this to happen is that Hiroto had possibly died while he was out at night. At some point later, Rin saw droplets of blood on the ground. He hesitated before cleaning the blood up.

Two years later, Feburary 17th 1899.

There was now a single mom taking care of 5 kids.

One day, Rin was finishing lunch with Chiyo and his siblings. After Rin finished, he went to sweeping the floors. While he was sweeping, one of his younger siblings, Riku, ran up up to him with tears threatening to fall from the corners of his eyes. Hiroshi had also came along to explain the situation. He had a look of sorrow on his face.

RINS POV :

As I noticed the sorrow look on Hiroshi face, and the tears about to fall from Rikus eyes, I had a feeling it was Dai once again. Dai was just like father.. they were both very coldhearted, unlike mother. Mother was calm and sweet compared to the two. I understand why Dai was my fathers favourite. As I held the broom in my hand with a face mixed with shock and slight confusion, I see Dai walk towards us.
