Dear Mr.Right

I have a best-friend, and I h̶a̶t̶e̶ i̶t̶ lol that's a lie, I actually love it. I won't admit it but I really do enjoy having Yamir as a best friend. It's so funny because we have not known each other that long but we vibe so much that we decided to become "besties". It's great, he gives me whatever I want, he buys me food, all I have to do is whine and i get my way, it's #great. I actually have it down to a science, it's #great! Booby is #great !

"Spot me for 15," I told Darren as I positioned myself on the weight bench.

He nodded and walked over to me before getting into position.

After I gripped the bar securely I began to lift, grunting as I muscled the heavy metal up.

"you still doin' that scholarship thing Ms.Applewood gave you?" He asked as he watched me closely to make sure I wouldn't hurt myself working out.

"Yeah, it's mostly done though." I told him with a grunt.

"That's wassup." He nodded, "Ay I did want to let you know I heard some stuff about your partner." He added.

"stuff like what?" I questioned as I continued lifting.

"well I mean...ion wanna like—be offensive or nun' but some people on the team was talkin' about him being gay or some shit." He informed.

I creased my eyebrows at that and stopped lifting, placing the weight back on the bars before sitting up.

"he is." I said simply as I shifted around to look at him.

His eyes went wide in response before he spoke, "damn—you cool wit' that?" He asked.

Again I creased my eyebrows in confusion, "why wouldn't I be, it doesn't matter—nor does it change anything." I told him.

"I mean I get that bro, hunnit' percent—I'm just saying, as much as you've been around him lately, like you sit wit' him at lunch, and then people been seeing him ride to school wit' you—people might start to think shit about you." He ranted.

I looked up at him with a bored expression before speaking, "Darren please stop beating around the bush and say what you gotta say." I told him simply, "you're talking like a little kid."

He looked taken back by my words, so he had to gather himself before responding, "basically people might start thinking you gay y'know—since you around him so much."

I stared at him for a bit before shaking my head with a chuckle, "I don't care." I said simply.

Again, he looked shocked, "but—"

"There's really no 'but' anything bro, I don't really care how people feel about me talking to someone because of their sexuality. Hayden's my friend, and that's not gonna change over something stupid like that." I explained.
