"WAS IT SOMETHING SAD? OR NOTHING AT ALL"

- friends by vacations

you see yourself in the mirror.

so pathetic.

saeko carefully finishing cleaning your face of the reddish brown stains as your nonchalant face stared back at you in the mirror.

she chucked the blood stained tissue into a bin close by and turned back to you.

"you okay sweet?" she gently asks.

you felt your insides clutch. the urge to let everything out was unresistable. you were truly at your limit.

"baby don't cry." she hushed.

you didn't even realise you had started crying.

"just tell me. i'm not a dick like them others." she said with a smile, her warm eyes inviting you to vent.

and so you did. you included everything from the beginning of when you started to get kicked out in the early hours, to when you found this place in which she recalls frequently seeing you. you also included how your mother told you to never come back.

saeko's eyes softened in sympathy as she nodded frequently to let you know she was still listening. your face lay buried in your hands. you were trying to balance school life with this never ending cycle of torment and grief hand delivered to you by your own mother.

"i just need a distraction from all this." you sobbed.

"i can't take it."

saeko almost winced at those last four words.

"look, i have a temporary solution." she added avoiding eye contact.

you look up at her with glossy eyes as a response for her to continue with her proposal.

"why don't you hang out with me and my friends just for tonight and we can try sort something out for you." she finished, unsure of your answer due to 'teru's' antics last night.

hm.
