AN: sorry if it sounds a bit weird, for this chapter and the next. It was originally Scout instead of Pyro but I fucked up and changed it. So sorry if it sounds weird because it wasn't supposed to be Pyro. :)

Engi was never afraid to die. He never once was. Even when he was little. He's always been daring and brave. But despite this, he did have a fear of losing his loved ones. And that's why he was really so stressed during the fight.

Yes he knew his team could fight but still, he couldn't help but worry for them. They are risking their lives, sure for high reward, you know that system, but he just couldn't shake the feeling something really bad was going to happen.

So far, nothing was happening. They don't have a time limit, so a bunch of people are in their bases chilling. Sure, occasionally someone will step out for a bit, but they never had any weapons on their person, so for now it was pretty chill. We were only about 4 hours into the fight anyway.

Everyone was kind of doing their own thing. Sniper was probably peeing in a jar or something weird like that, Spy was sharpening his knifes, Demoman was, well, bein drunk, Medic and Heavy were making plan on how to wipe their team, and Engi was, well, he was pacing thought the intel hallways. Dell may seem collected and calm on the outside, but on the inside was where his real worrying was. The pressure that a Spy would come through and kill someone was crushing him, and he was not doing alright.

"What's wrong?" Said a familiar voice.

Engineer looked up to see Soldier.

"Oh, uh, just kinda stressed."

"Why?"

"Well, I don't exactly like the thought that I could lose any of you."

"What do you mean? We're right here."

"No, I mean that one of you could die, and not come back. Ever again."

"Cmon, this team's tough, we're not gonna go down that easy!"

"I guess your right... I shouldn't be worrying so much."

"Come upstairs, let's just chill in the respawn room."

"Alrighty."

Some more time passed, about 25 minutes, and nothing had changed. No one had attacked yet, and Engi felt like he built his sentry for no reason. So he got up and went to move it so it wasn't just in the way. The second he picked it up and left, blu's Pyro ran out of their base with their flamethrower and axe. They were definitely ready to do some damage.

Engi walked past the respawn room with his toolbox, when Soldier saw him and said,

"Where are you going?"

"Oh, uh, to move my sentry, wanna come with?"

"Sure, got nothing better to do."

"Cmon then!"

So he followed him into the sewers, where Engi thought was a good place to place it down.

"Out of the way, and to stop anyone from coming down this way."

"Nice!"

"I think I might sit here for a bit, you go do whatever ya want."

"Ok, see ya."

As Soldiers footsteps echoed quieter and quieter, someone else's got louder and louder, and it sounded like a Pyro. Engi pulled out his trusty pistol that he always had on him. But this Pyro was a bit smart, so she peeked the corner first to see if there was a sentry, and right he was.

"You better run boy. You're no match for my machines."

Pyro thought fo a second, then decided to go another way.

As Engi heard the plip plop of the Pyros footsteps get father and farther he said, "Smart move!"

"Drat, I should move this to another entrance, so they can't get in." He talked to himself, going to pick up his building.

"Wait, but he might be tricking me into moving my sentry somewhere else so she can get in here! Ok, I'll leave it here, but go block the other entrance myself!" He proclaimed, running out of the sewers and back into his base. Up those concrete stairs and through the barn, he stepped in the doorway, waiting for the blue Pyro to come. And waited. And waited. And a solid 15 passed and he didn't come. Then another. And another. Engi started to think he gave up, until he saw them step out, flamethrower in her hands, axe on her back. What was he planning to do. Engi didn't know, but he wanted to be the first one to put a bullet in his enemy.

He fired one shot, miss, second shot, miss, third shot, hit! He didn't want to shoot too many, for he didn't want to alert any of the teams. He did alert the Pyro though, who now had a bullet wound in them, but of course, he didn't mind much. She was at a range where his flamethrower wouldn't do much damage, so they used his quick feet, and ran across the bridge, and when they got close enough, started shooting. To avoid being shot, Engi hid behind the middle part between the two doorways. Why was he doing this? Was he truly fearing for his life? Impossible! But there was no time to think, he had to fight or flee, and he subconsciously chose flee.
