Senior year as some may say is the year of stress, and for me Devon Highland that's exactly what it was going to be. I was sending in applications for Berkley, Yale, Harvard, and the University of Florida. I know. I know. Why submit your application to all those Ivy League schools and then the University of Florida? Well it's simple actually. My two best friends plan on going there. Anna, who is strong and not afraid to speak her mind, plans on going to study journalism, and Kristina, who is extremely talented in the arts, plans on going to study teaching to become an art teacher. I've grew up around these girls, I can't leave them. Every since that fateful day in kindergarten when Toby Tobasky threw dirt at my favorite dress and Anna kicked him in the shin while Kristina came and comforted me we have been best friends. We are like the three musketeers and I can't stand the thought of us being apart. Not only will I have the stress of even getting into the Ivy League schools, but I also have the stress of choosing to leave my friends or not. All I wanted was not to have to think about it for a little bit. I've always been super close with my mom so when I brought all this up a couple weeks ago she had an amazing idea. She called up her friend Marie whom is a real estate agent in Orlando, and she asked her to find a good beach house to rent for the summer. I thought she meant that her and I were going to take off to the beach for the summer, but last night Anna and Kristina burst through my front door with their bags and a beach ball screaming "WE'RE GOING TO THE BEACH!!!" Turns out my mom called up their parents and talked them into letting them drive 6 hours away to stay with me at the beach by ourselves all summer in sunny Daytona, Florida. That's why I'm sitting in my room right now packing all my best clothes and swimsuits in a giant suit case. This was going to be a summer to remember.
