After eight excruciating hours in the car we finally reached our interstate exit. Our six hour trip had become a lot longer than expected thanks to a tire blow out, having to go to the store and get drinks because our package of Dr. Pepper had fallen out of the car and exploded, a wreck just past the Florida welcome center, and Kristina having to pee every thirty minutes.

All-in-all I guess you could say our trip was miserable. None of us liked road trips, we liked the destination, and this trip was long and awful. Luckily, we were only about 10 minuets away from our beach house and then I could collapse into a soft fluffy heaven that is my new bed and drift off into the world of my dreams.

"Um Devon, I hate to brake you out of whatever amazing thoughts you are having, but I need to know what house number ours is," Kristina questioned me from behind the wheel.

" I don't remember, but Marie told me on the phone earlier it was the fifth house after you turn on the street."

We drove just a little longer while I was still gazing out the window lost in my own head. I didn't even notice we had pulled up to our temporary home.

" OH. MY. GOD!"Anna squealed for the front seat next to Kristina.

I break completely out of my thoughts of our awful trip, thinking our house for the summer must be awful to make Anna squeal like that.

"What, is it bad?" I ask.

" Yes, it's just a shack on the beach and there's a hole in the wall. You can see right in," Kristina states sarcastically , "look for yourself."

But when I look, there is not a hole in the wall or a tiny shack, but a two story White House with a blue roof and shutters, a wrap around porch that seems like it stretches a mile, and the house is huge!

My mouth hangs open as I stare at it. "Oh. My. God," Anna squeals once again before jumping out of the car and doing a dance in the drive way. Before I know it Kristina is out of the car and dancing with her.

Now, I'm usually reserved and easily embarrassed. Dancing in the middle of a neighborhood is not something I would ever do. I prefer to dance in the comfort of my own room, but I let the excitement take over and unbuckled my seatbelt, jumped out of the car, and started jumping up and down and dancing with my girls in the street.

I was doing a move that was something in between the stanky leg and the whip when a booming amount of laughter broke out through the night. I immediately stopped dancing with Kristina following my actions. Anna however, was oblivious to the fact that we were being watched by God knows who and continued dancing in her own little world. Kristina reached down took off her flip flop and smacked Anna on the back of the head with it, earning another round of laughter from whoever was watching.

That's when it hit Anna, " Listen here you dingle berries, I'm not sure where you are but I am not someone to be laughed at. I will knock those smiles right off your faces and you will we regret laughing at me because Anna gonna whoop up on you!"

I couldn't help but laugh at Anna as she yells into the dark. "Come one girls lets just go in and go to sleep so we can hit up the super market in the morning," I say grabbing my suitcase out of the car.

We all grab our things out of the vehicle, and walk up onto the porch. I search my bag for the house key, but I can't find it. I start freaking out and begin to panic. I have a problem with panic attacks so I have to sit down on the porch and start breathing slowly. Kristina and Anna come and set beside before Kristina asks me if I'm okay.

"No I'm not okay, I can't find the house key and now we are going to be stuck out here because I lost it and we have to go back home."

"You just sit here and breath and Anna will look for the key." Kristina stays beside me rubbing my back, and Anna gets up and begins looking for the key.
