Chapter 4

Leaving the living room you walked through the long corridor into the kitchen, finding Karina talking to Winter in the corner. You felt nervous to approach her as you didn't know if you were able to hold up a conversation well enough, maybe you could just tell her how you feel today. Feeling awkward interrupting their conversation, you watched her closely waiting for the perfect timing to intervene. Eunchae walked into the kitchen.

"Y/N I have to leave early." She told you, looking worried.

"Wait what happened?"

"I don't know I think my teacher told my dad I was absent for today's lesson. He just called me now, he's gonna kill me." She sighed facepalming cutely. Yunjin also joined.

"You should go don't worry I'm leaving soon too." You hugged her goodbye reassuring her.

"I'll give you a ride if Y/N is fine with making her own way home." Yunjin offered. Eunchae looked at you with puppy eyes.

"Yes, yes okay. Just go now so I can see you alive tomorrow." You giggled playfully pushing them towards the door. After they left you looked for Karina, but her and Winter both disappeared from where they were before. You decided you could talk later and went back to the living room to get a drink. Pouring whatever you could find, you decided to take a seat and observe everyone talking. You loved just observing. It was what you were best at. In fact, you zoned out and didn't even notice someone trying to talk to you.

"Y/N?"..."Hello..?"
Suddenly, someone waved their hand in front of your face breaking you out of your trance. You looked to see who it was.

"Oh, hey Karina." You smiled at her, glad to see her after you lost her earlier.

"Where were you? You didn't come talk to me at all tonight." She makes a cute sad face causing you to giggle. You explained how you lost her earlier in the kitchen and how your friends had to leave. "Don't worry, I'll stay with you tonight." She smiled brightly making you blush and look away. You were starting to feel tipsy making it even harder to mask your crush on her. "Let me go get us some refills and then we can play some games on my ps5, okay?" You nodded and she left to go get drinks, your eyes naturally following her. Kazuha was still there, you didn't know she could hold her liquor like that, and her and Karina exchanged some small talk. It irked you that te girl you had a crush on was friends with someone who annoyed you so much. It was inevitable, Kazuha was likeable and friendly to everyone but you, it's only natural she befriended Karina too. Karina returned and you both sat back and decided to play 'Fall Guys' together.

Amongst the laughter and giggles, Karina turned to you. "I wanna tell you something."

You answered, "What's up?"

"Im only telling you this because I trust you okay?"

"Just tell me." You giggled and reassured her.

"I think I like Winter.."

Your heart sank. You couldn't let it show so you played it off. "Really..? That's great.." You wondered if you were being too obvious and tried to hold back your tears. You were so embarrassed you didn't notice the way they spoke to each other earlier, or that Karina simply wasn't into you.

"Yeah, I was thinking of asking her out soon and I wanted to tell you because you're my new friend."

Ouch.

She has a crush on someone else and she friendzoned you? You told her you needed to use the restroom and quickly left the living room taking your drink with you. You were already pretty drunk, but this just made you want to forget everything. You still liked Karina even if she didn't like you back, and that hurt. Sitting outside on the grass, you sat in silence taking small sips of your drink occasionally and looking at the night sky. You felt someone sit next to you, it was Kazuha.
