"No, that's not gonna happen." He said running his fingers through his hairs for the million times, turning it into a mess of chocolate brown like he had just rolled straight out of bed. His jaw clenching so tight as he listened to the old man mumbled on about his unwanted marriage to a girl he has never seen.
The young man frustrately took the files from the table and threw it across the room making a loud thud noise. Danial Bernardi, his one and only dearest grandfather jumped back in a surprise, cocking his eyebrow at him in amusement as he watched his oldest grandson sighed heavily with his face between his plams.
"Cancel this bullshit before I burned down this office and travel to north pole. Truth to be told, i would gladly live with penguins for the rest of my life rather than be called someone's husband." He muttered.
"You're marrying her, and that's final." Danial narrowed his eyes carefully at his grandson, stating that he is not joking.
"You and I both know that I would rather kill myself so that i don't have to live my life being someone's prisoner."
"You meant as someone's husband." Danial chuckled, shaking his head in amusement.
The wicked old man was playing games again. He still remembered very much clearly when he had dumped this news on his own son and now years later, he was still doing the same thing, marrying off his grandson.
"I'm not marrying her or anyone else right now." He groaned, looking at his grandfather silently begging him to stop this nonsense.
"Give me a good reason why? Carlotta is a perfect match for you. You two would look so good together."
"I don't like people."
"Understandable but not good enough to cancel the wedding." Danial shrugged, trying to hide his smile.
"The Anderson's and us, Bernardi's had a deal, a contract to be exact. We merged our blood by a marriage bond or the treaty will be broken and there will be war against us."
Knox cursed under his breath. "Then pick Levi or Milan."
"Milan is happily married to his lovely wife Isabella with their children and Levi is in no condition for marriage. He's was still playing the field therefore, i can't do that to the poor girl, he will break her heart. And perhaps you're the oldest so." Danial explained.
"How do you know that I won't break her heart?"
"You're the most faithful man in our bloodline. I know you won't cheat on your wife."
"I'm not marrying her, if they want war, i will fight the war myself."
He said ready to leave the room when his grandfather pulled the last card up his sleeves. Danial hated it but he had no other choice. No unnecessary blood war would take place under his watch, not his other nor the innocents.
"I will sign this company off to the public if you don't show up at the altar a year from now. However, everything will be legally yours, the moment you have a wedding band wrapped around your ring finger."
"Think about it son. Atleast for our family's sake." Danial said, rosing from his seat.
"I swear to you, Carlotta is a great girl and you'll be happy with her. I only want your happiness. I wouldn't want anything but the best for my favourite grandson." He winked at Knox, patted his back and then he was out of the room.
