Micah <3
Hi Nisha, how are you?
I text you to say that i'm not in love with you anymore. I'm sorry. I think that it would be better if we break up. I hope that you are okay with it.
PS: Can you send my t-shirt back?

Real life

Nisha stares at her phone screen. She is confused of the text she just got. She has only been in Paris for 6 weeks and her boyfriend is already breaking up with her?

Next to her bed on her bedside table is a tray with untouched dinner. What time would it be? It's light outside, so it isn't night, she thinks as she lies down in her bed.

She smells Micah's shirt that is wrapped around her pillow, already missing his smell and being with him. Can you send my shirt back? How can you text such a stupid thing? Asshole.

Nisha stares at the ceiling. How can I stop being in love with Micah? There is a picture framed of the two of them on her bedside table. There is no one who smiles that cute and smells so nice like he does. Fast she turned the framed picture around and pinches her nose. She should never look at at picture again and should never smell his shirt again. Then she'll forget how his smile looks and forget how he smells.

How long were they together? Four months, two weeks and twelve hours. She checks her alarm clock, he broke up with her twelve hours ago because of the time difference.

In the hallway she hears guests with their suitcases rolling on the ground. Stupid hotel guests. The first five weeks she loved living in the hotel with her dad. Every morning she would go to her balcony with an chocolate croissant and stare at the eiffel tower. Every minute she was off school she would look at every shop window like Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Prada.

In the corner of her room is a mannequin her father bought for her, so she wouldn't be bored. She loves making her own clothes.

She stares at the ground. Now she hates everything without Micah being with her. She hasn't seen him for 6 weeks, but it isn't the same.

When the smell of toast enters her room she starts to get hungry. She gets out of bed and grabs her cat slippers from under her bed.

Nisha sneaks down the stairs. Fortunately, there are no more guests in the hallway. Once she is downstairs, she runs to the main hotel hall and gently pushes open the door to the kitchen where her dad was.

'You are already awake! How are you doing sweetheart?' Her dad asked her, smashing an egg against the edge of a pan.

'Hungry..' Nisha rests her head against her dad's white coat. His beard feels familiar tickling her forehead.
