✯⋆Jennie POV
"When will you start bringing company?" My mother questioned me as soon as I walked through the door.
"Hello to you too mom." She scoffed and half hugged me pressing a small kiss to my cheek.
"How is work? Have you seen Nina lately?" Every time I come over for our family dinners she feels like she has to give me an interrogation. Asking the same questions she always does. About my love life, work and my friends.
"Nina is good we had lunch the other day. And work is fine I finished early today and got to wash up instead of coming straight here." I explained taking my coat off and hanging it on the rack. I scanned the room seeing my mom setting the table. Which probably meant my dad was cooking.
"What's for dinner tonight?" I asked and like I predicted my dad came around the corner with a big smile on his face.
"My girl! Come here!" He smiled happy as I hugged him and he pressed a kiss to my forehead.
"We are having your favorite tonight. Seolleongtang with rice and kimchi." My eyes nearly popped out because that genuinely is my favorite.
"Thank you!" I might have jumped around for a second like a kid on christmas but like... it's food. I will always happy dance for food.
"This is why he makes it. To see that smile right there." My mom smiled warmly and spoke softly. She wasn't the type of mom to blatantly say who was her favorite child. However she didn't make it very hard to figure out either.
"Will Jimin actually be here today?" I asked and my mothers smile soon turned flat.
"He said he won't be able to make it." She replied lowly and she just looked upset. Jimin and my parents relationship is complicated. He is older then me by three years and I used to watch them argue every single day when Jimin was a teenager. There were even some points at which it almost got physical, I remember my dad having to pin Jimin down to calm him.
"Maybe next week then." I gave her a sympathetic smile as I took my seat. My father brings the food to the table and takes his seat right next to my mom.
"Thank you so much dad. I am really so appreciative that you made my favorite." I beamed and he only chuckled a little and continued eating. We sat and talked about our weeks like we usually did and things happening at work. I personally enjoyed family dinners until we got on one topic specifically. And we seem to always land there somehow.
"You never answered my question honey." My mom reiterated after taking a sip of her water.
"Which question?" I answered back trying to play dumb. I told you we always get here.
"Oh don't be coy. When will you bring someone home?" I could feel my face getting hotter as I thought about who I could even bring. Jungkook was the only person that I could even think of. Although thinking about Jungkook brought other thoughts and I had to snap out of that considering my parents are in front of me.
