"Isn't she beautiful, Arthur?"

"Yes, she's indeed beautiful, she just looks just like you, Kate"

"Well, I would take that as my only treasure, but she does claim your hair and eyes, Arthur. Look, she's even twinkling them"

"I feel like she's listening to our words, she's neither crying nor playing"

"That's because she will grow up to be an intelligent young lady someday, Arthur, right my baby Catherine?"

For the longest time, I haven't known what being warm is all about. Not until, I felt these unfamiliar gestures with these familiar two people. They have these soft caresses taking over my whole being like warm serendipity, sweet gazes like honey, and shining beams like a sun.

I've never had this kind of experience before, not when I look at these two nobles I grew up being unloved from the start.

I tried averting my eyes, then gazing at the nostalgic scenery of the corners of the room. The sun cascaded like mere shadows of the warm lights within, enveloping these uncertain waves of emotions overflowing like mere I'm a mere casket in a meadow of sunshine.

"She might be hungry now, let's call for Lydia, alright?"

"Yes, I guess we better take care of her now, since she doesn't cry"

I've been hearing these murmurs around, these sweet whispers of nothing to my ears making me crease my eyebrows

I thought that I couldn't breathe when darkness took over, all the scenarios from my life after growing from a loveless family to bullying Castier's love with death in his hands. They felt so surreal so why am I here now?

I narrow my eyes as I spotted this mirror, but then I couldn't help widening them as soon as I land on my figure. I'm indeed a baby figure and being held by the Duchess of this household.

They aren't like this when I grow up, they are never kind to me. Duke Arthur would always speak some harsh words to me to learn my place, the Duchess would stay quiet most of the time and acts like she never saw this happening.

But this time, it is different, why?

"There, there, now you're crying suddenly Catherine. Are you hungry now? We'll just wait for Lydia then," the sweet unfamiliar velvety tone cascaded to my ears engulfing lighter feelings while trying to envelop me with its flickering fire.

I can sense that with one sway of their hands, they're already covering me with their arms, so warm, so bright and so light that I can never know if they are real this time, or just acting.

But they aren't acting in my past, they are indeed angry, cruel, and mad at my existence but now I can't understand the reason that they don't hate me.

"But first and foremost, let's change your clothes, shall we our cute baby?"

***

In my everyday life with this baby figure, I can only be certain of one, both the duke and duchess of this household would always shower their love on me.

They would always visit me first and talk to me like a baby, gestures like one, and even tickle me before proceeding with their tasks.

The duchess would sometimes sneak me out into the garden and talk to her friends with me in her arms. Her friends would immediately talk and admire my figure, how I looked like both of my parents then they would laugh and point to my nose.
