When I finally begin to accept the things that aren't meant to be, I feel like a few thorns had been lifted from my shoulders. Everything moves in a blink of an eye, time tells me that I should keep doing it, and so that I wouldn't end up as I did in my first life.

The warm tea exudes such a fragrance that I'm unable to determine from my past self. Ripples continue to happen, and my image gets torn by the passing breezes that caress them.

When the warmth meets my lips, my breath and composure rest on it. The base is cold when I tried to lift it, but it gets warmer every time the sweetness of the rippling hot water invades my taste.

"I presume that I never heard the words that you said, Lady Catherine," his voice reminds me of a time in the past when all I could see is null and void from his expression. The tone is deep and low, but firm enough to hold its ground.

I know everything about Castier, even until now, and I also knew what kind of gazes he's giving me even if I continue to look at my reflection in this hot velvet brew.

The ripples created distortion and vagueness invaded my vision. Emotions that were supposed to be forgotten, seem to evade my chest for a second until all I could do is lift the thorns embedded in my heart as I take a deep breath and gaze at the young man that once caught my heart.

"Your Highness, I would apologize if my words caused you some misunderstanding," I pause then take a few breathes apart to continue, "But being married is not only having the union of both families, it also means choosing your life partner which you could rely on and I know that marrying someone must involve love."

There I said the words, I would never think to say. When my hands finally let go of the warmth, I knew I gave my best in front of him.

As the soft breeze caresses my face and moves the long hair on my back, it created a nostalgic scenario where my heart can still remember the sweet nothings he would whisper.

Like the ripples that once passed this hot water, it made certain that it goes through the drum in my chest.

"You say as if I'm going to hurt you," again, the cause of all my worries, and the non-stop beating of this heart, his tone of voice that seems to dig deeper into my skin, to the point that I have no place to return to once I said the following words.

When I envision the moments we have been together, it made me feel like I can still live in that time, a romance that I thought would be never-ending, a fairytale where I finally met my prince charming so that we could live happily in life I've created in my mind.

However, life is never as simple as it seems. Some things cannot be controlled by anyone, especially certain emotions that only became clearer now.

Like a warm breeze that sent tingles all over my skin, I put on the best expression I could muster, just for the past to be let go of.

"Your Highness," I say nodding twice as if I agreed to his words, but when I look around but him, I realize that the image is more vast than the narrow ones that I would always focus on.

"Should I tell you a story if it's alright with you?" I can still feel how intent his gaze is, but I only take a few deep breaths as I look at the bigger image around me.

"Go on"

"Thank you, for your time, your highness," then just like that, I began.

The tale is all about a young lady who was born into a loveless family. Each time she chooses to do good and excel at things, she would only get scolded for the tiny mistakes she did.
