He sits on the floor against the bed across from me. I slowly poke at the food and take small pieces at a time.
"You don't have to force yourself to be here, I get it if you're not comfortable around me, I'll be fine by myself," I say while breaking the silence and finishing the plate of food. I still don't dare to look at him. I don't want to know what expressions are on his face when I talk to him.
"I'm not uncomfortable being around you, I said I wanted to fix our friendship, didn't I?" he chuckles awkwardly and scoots towards me a little bit. Not uncomfortable my ass.
"I have homework to do so really it's fine, we can just forget all the stuff that happened and just be how we were when we were little, I'm fine with that. Don't push yourself to stay here. It's obvious you're not comfortable," he smile at the floor and rub the back of my neck.
"I'm not uncomfortable okay?! I'm just trying to understand and fix us instead of pretending nothing ever happened when something did!" he shouts and I can feel him glaring at me.
"Right, sorry. I just really want to be alone, okay? We can try this another time. You can take the rest of the cookies and whatnot," I can feel my eyes starting to burn again. Aiden doesn't respond, he just gets up and leaves, slamming the door on his way out.
I spent the rest of that day and Sunday locked in my room. Then my alarm for school went off. I got ready for school and Hannah drove me to school.
When I got to school, I kept my head down and walked to my locker. I almost flinched when someone wrapped their arm around my shoulder. When I glanced up, it was a friend of Aiden's.
"Mornin' Mike, how was your weekend?" he asks with a cheeky grin. Does he know? I shrug and look over to see Aiden glaring at me before he walks away. I sigh and push his arm off me and grab my books from my locker. Only to be interrupted by his friend shoving me into the lockers next to mine.
"Not gonna answer me? I was being nice. Or are you too flustered to talk since I had my arm around you?" he chuckles and keeps his forearm against my back. He told them.
"I'm sorry, it was fine. Just the usual. Homework and stuff," I try to move off the locker but he doesn't budge. This sucks. Just then, his friend is shoved to the ground. I look over to see Aiden. He looks beyond pissed at both of us. Before I can open my mouth, his friend beats me to it.
"Protecting your little boyfriend? Since when did you care about Mike?" he snickers while beginning to get up on his feet only for Aiden to kick him right back down. I could just see the anger boiling over the top inside him.
"Can you just shut your trap, Josh?" Aiden says through his grit teeth while clenching his hands into fists. So that's his name. He seems like a Josh.
Josh gets up and shoves Aiden back when Aiden regains his balance he grips Josh's shirt. Oh great. I step in front of Josh just before Aiden could lay a hit on him. Instead, his punch goes straight to my nose. I bite my tongue to keep from yelling and shove the two boys away from each other. Aiden just stares at me in shock as a hot liquid runs down my mouth and chin all the way to the floor.
"Awe you hit your boy toy, what a shame," Josh chuckles and ruffles my hair.
"Shut up! Aiden doesn't even like me! He's straight okay? We're just friends so stop spreading lies and trying to ruin his reputation! It's pathetic!" I yell at him while wiping some blood from my nose while trying not to tear up. Josh just rolls his eyes and walks away. I sigh and look at Aiden who is still just staring in shock.
"I'm fine, just go to class or you'll be late. I won't tell anyone that you hit me. Just stay away from me or people m-" Aiden cuts me off by grabbing my hips with one arm and pulling me against him, he then grabs my chin and angles my head up, and licks the blood off from my upper lip. I instantly shove him away and look around. Some people had their phones out.
"Are you crazy?!" I wipe my nose but he pulls me back against him and plants a kiss on my lips. It wasn't gentle either. I push him away again and he drags me to the bathroom, locking the door behind us.
"What the hell are you doing Aiden?! People saw that! They are gonna say something. I don't want people thinking you're gay when you're not. I'm not sure what's going through your head but you need to snap out of it," I sigh and push past him to the mirror and grab some paper towel and hold it under my nose.
Aiden walks up behind me and kisses the side of my neck. What the hell has gotten into him? Is it his quirk or something in control again? When he looks up at the mirror, his eyes aren't glowing. It's just him. I'm not sure if that scares me even more.
"Aiden, stop. This isn't you. You don't like me or guys, remember?" I stare down at the sink while I get the paper towel wet and start wiping some of the blood off of my face.
"You're right, I don't. Then tell me why I hated seeing him touch you. Tell me why when he started teasing you that you were my boyfriend, I didn't mind it. It just annoyed me that he was hurting you. I don't want anyone touching you," he confesses while wrapping his arms tightly around me.
"It was just your adrenaline. You hurt me more than he did. Thanks for standing up for me but still. This isn't you. You're just upset and want to release your adrenaline on something. Don't use me for that. You're gonna regret that you kissed me again. I'm not a girl. I'm not what you want," I push his arms off me but he turns me around and sits me on the sink counter.
