~ Chapter 7: Thank me later, dear Cassano ~

25th June 2017
'Eth Alth'eban City, the Arabian Peninsula
League of Assassins Headquarters

"Has it been done?" She finished the remaining wine.

"Yes Mistress, Shiva has successfully gotten rid of the man and has delivered his...head to the Kittisawat house..." The assassin winced a little at the mention of Arthee's head being delivered to the two boys, his movement very visible to her even with his head bowed down.

The woman chuckled as she poured herself another glass, twirling the glass as she stared down at the assassin. "Well done then, you will be given a pay rise as promised. You may take your leave now."

The assassin stood up and thanked her before bowing and took off happily.

"Was that really necessary? You realise that he is going to start hunting down for you because you know who he really is." The voice belonged to her half sister who was leaning against the door, staring at her with an eyebrow raised.

The woman merely let out a deep chuckle again, turning her own body to face her. "Oh you don't think I know that? It's almost time that we will meet, the last time I saw them was when they were still infants..."

"She is still considered a betrayer no matter what, father established it in front of the whole League."

She sighed and took another sip of her wine, turning her head towards a photo frame of her and her former best friend along with her husband.

"This was my promise to her, my dear sister. I promise Honey that I will take care of her sons should one day anything happens to her and Pat. It's just that day arrived too fast."

Her sister looks at her sympathetically, walking over to pour herself a glass. "So it doesn't bother you that father established as a-"

She sets her glass down, turning back to face her. "I know and I no longer care. Father's dead and now I'm the leader of the League, she is not a betrayer. She had the courage to do something that I wouldn't have ever done even if it was for Damian..."

Her sister sighed and shook her head, "I will make sure the message gets to him." She turns and walks away, the sound of her heels clinking against the floor slowly fading away.

The woman stared at the framed photo once more, running her finger along her former lover's face, "We didn't have much time together Honey, my darling... "
