My eyes burst open to the blinding light of the morning. My wife opened the blinds with a quick, and swift motion. My eyes instantly became dry and sticky. Making it nearly painful to blink.

"It's nine thirty, you're already late." My wife sighed, with that subtle nagging tone that always seems to push through her facade of alertness.

"Yeah yeah. You're not the one that has to explain it to your boss." I barely rasped.

Saying that I noticed hoe dry my mouth was. The taste of plaque and rotting food in my mouth, along with the lack of saliva, made me reach for my water glass. Where my glass once was, there was air. I could've sworn that I had taken a drink before I went to sleep last night.

"Did you move my glass?" I asked with conviction lingering in my voice.

"No. Why would I do that? I think you're imagining things." She laughed, making me question my sanity for a moment.

Perhaps I hadn't put my glass on my night stand last night. I shrugged it off and stretched, yawning as I did so; making my wife as well. I got onto my feet and lumbered across the carpet floor, making my way towards the bathroom. I find that my glass was next to the sink all along. With water still in it, I drank the room temperature water and rinsed my face.

My beard had grown a little long, and I had planned to shave it off today. I guess I'll have to shave tonight. I'm thirty years old, but I have a pimple popping up in between my eyebrows. I sigh as I turn away from the mirror, walking towards the shower. I stepped in and turned the handle, and ice cold water dumped onto my head.

The anger welling up inside of me wasn't enough for me to yell as loudly as I had wanted to. I sighed very loudly, almost growling, and stepped back from under the water. I saw hair slide into the drain, medium length hair. About as long as mine, continued to go down the drain. I noticed it running down my chest when I glanced down. I felt the top of my head, vigorously groping the top of my head. I pulled my hand away, and saw a clump of soaked hair tangled around my fingers.

More and more hair continued to run down my cold wet body. I flew open the sliding door with nearly enough strength to shatter the glass. Goosebumps slowly covered my body, as I shivered. I stood in a pool of cold water, with hair dancing atop of it. I looked in the mirror, staring at my naked body; hair strewn about it messily. My head had patches of missing hair all over it. It was disgusting.

I looked down from the top of my head, onto my face. My beard was still scraggly and now slightly wet. Then I saw the pimple that sat between my eyebrows. It was popped, but I didn't feel anything. The blood had not come out strangely. I reached up and picked at it.

"Agh!" I winced at the pain. Very little blood came, but a piece of my skin came off.

I put it in my palm and examined it. It was a fairly big piece. I glanced back up to my face, and saw the revolting hole between my eyebrows, puss and other nasty fluids began to swell inside of it. I grabbed toilet paper to dabbed it up. Frantically trying to clean it, I rubbed so hard that more pieces began to peel away. I could not feel it, but flesh was beginning to turn soft, and began tearing away. The top of my nose was nearly completely stricken of flesh, blood streaming down my face. I passed out, and before the lights went out I hit my head on the counter.

Today I' in the hospital. My wife was not lucky enough to survive, and my face is beyond repair. Apparently it's a rare, and extremely contagious type of leprosy. Other parts of my body begin to come off. Parts that I don't want to talk about. I no longer want to live. Every day, a little more is taken from me. I prayed to god, but he didn't answer. I'm going to remove my IV's tonight, and I'm going to unplug myself as well. I suppose there may be some moral to this story. I don't know what it is, and I really don't care. I just want it to end.
